Burning Man 2022 Medley |

Amazing. It's incredible what people can do.
How did they make those giant manta rays in the sky? Drones? |

Burning Man.
Radical inclusion. “Ugh. I can’t believe Kylie Jenner is here. This isn’t for her.” Self reliance. Influencers have their people set up camp. Self expression. People are there so they can hopefully become an influencer. Communal effort. “We don’t help them, they’re not one of us.” Go back to radical inclusion. Like all things, it gets corrupted by popularity. Still, it’s on my bucket list for some reason. |

Imagine the profound effect on our country if a giant sinkhole suddenly appeared..

Never been to Burning Man, but have gone to a bunch of regional burns like Lakes of Fire, Resonate, etc. as a patron. Some of these events are absolutely wild. I’ve been to Electric Forest a few times professionally and it’s another planet. Absolutely wild how the entire forest is light up with permanent installations, tons of scenery, tree houses, all sorts of glow in the dark shit, etc. it’s just wild. Very cool.
Also, I should clarify, I’m a touring sound guy, so I’m been to many of these crazy music festivals like Ultra, Bonaroo, EDC, Lolla, etc. |

That drone art was amazing, plus all of those fans in the sky probably helped with the smell.

Been a few times. It’s always an absolute blast. Growing up like 2 hours from there tons of people I knew went every year or had been. I don’t know one person that didn’t have fun. Of course arfcom hates everything.

Been there in 2006 and 2008. 2006 was a “holy shit I cannot believe that’s even possible I need to build that” experience. 2008 was “shit the recession has started so let’s all get drunk because we cannot afford shit and most likely don’t have a job when we get back. 2008 was also the start of when it became a hard drug festival.
Also for the dance clubs there was no bouncers, no ghetto rap music, no corporate club shit, no yutes. Just a bunch of fantastic people in the desert dancing to some of the best techno to come out of the Bay Area and Nordic countries. Literally nothing was played or used from a certain demographic and it’s orc culture. It’s literally the best clubs and club environment I have ever seen in my life. The thing about the art there is it’s world class and not the money laundered shit that you will see at a modern art museum. The added benefit of going during that time was there was no cell phone coverage, no influencers, no cell phone cameras, etc. You had privacy and could do whatever the fuck you wanted and not have some bitch trying to get you fired from your job or plastered all over the internet. Now…….I’m really not sure I would go again. The culture and environment has changed there. And the people who really made the event in 2006 have either aged out or been driven out. Back then you could wear whatever you wanted mad max codpiece or full Lawrence of Arabia outfit. Now there’s an attitude towards anyone not in”Burner” cloths. Which misses the entire point of the event….. |

Landing a Jet in the Burning MAN! Pilatus PC-24 Seems like it has a busy airport. |

I was there a couple of times in my youth and I got a tat on my ankle afterward to remember it by (not onsite), it was a lot of fun.
When I was there last, it was the week before 9/11, a lot changed following that.. Back in those days the ONLY thing you could buy was ice. I am not sure if that is still the case- Attached File |

Quoted: Where do all those people take a "Shit"? View Quote I was just reading comments on a Reddit video of the aftermath of some UK festival that people leave trashed. Drone footage of hundreds of tents left behind. Someone asked that same question and it was mentioned that a lot of those tents left behind become shithouses. |

Quoted: we gotta get a bunch of arfcommers together and go to burning man. convoy out there in u-hauls and RVs and do it up right. imitation crab meat, model trains, and unshowered dirty inkie hippie girls. View Quote No firearms are allowed, IIRC. But, the Black Rock Desert is huge on anyone's scale of size. Think Great Salt Lake. There is lots of room outside of BM. BALLS (rocketry)is another event held at BRD. That is another great getaway. Guys launch payloads like a keg of beer and shit. Some guys bring their bowling ball shooting cannons.. I think fairly recently a guy killed himself launching for space in a homemade rocket ship there. That was fun too, but I was a bit nervous when guys shoot a bowling ball a few hundred yards STRAIGHT UP, that could land on your head. It did make me respect the Civil War era guys downrange receiving incoming cannon fire. 6 foot wide targets are fucking obliterated at 100 yards. |

It must be hot as hell out there.
I see a bunch of them leaving early this year. |

View Quote I mean it’s no different than camping anywhere in northern nevada. Bring water and food. I guess for city people that don’t know better it might be hard to imagine having to bring supplies. |
