Why wouldn't this person or others.  They crave the power and top leadership slots.  He can say whatever he wants including rescinding some COVID bullshit but believe you me they want the vaccine mandates because of that QR code you put on your phone.  More than anything else they need that future control and right now COVID has been the way to implement it.

Please elaborate @wgjhsafT

Are you referring to the tracking apps that some countries insisted on for covid vaccine passports and "tracking the spread"?

Bridge will be fine. That bridge has trucks backed up on it, both ways, every day. Given, they are normally stop/go, not just stopped.

This bridge shutting down is a HUGE deal. The amount of goods that come across that bridge are very significant. This is going to add a few meetings to my day, today.

Next, the Detroit area hospitals have a not insignificant, percentage of their staff that commute from Canada each day. As of this morning they can't get to work. They can take the tunnel (trucks can't go in the tunnel), but that is jammed for miles now too. Every passenger vehicle that was going to take the bridge is now heading for the tunnel.

Looks like the hospital staff living in Canada needs to find someplace to live in Detroit.

I believe at least two other arrests were also for failure to show ID. That's a far cry from the terrorist acts they're being accused of, isn't it?

I like how the newest charge being thrown about is simply "Mischief"... What does that even mean in legal terms?

Does anyone have access to Ottawa laws pertaining to "Mischief"? I'd love to be able to read the definition for myself.

There are still some live streams up.

I would be very surprised if there aren't satellite comms assets native to the truck formations.  Our OTR guys had setups for internet and tv on the road like that when I worked at a trucking company.

Hopefully they've all still got radios.  It's also where logistics, i.e. runners, are going to come into play, getting messages and video in and out.

It really is hard to believe that Castro's bastard and his ilk think they can win this and that bringing force to bear is going to help their cause.  They're getting more and more desperate- and that means they're getting more dangerous.

They've already said the fbi and dhs were assisting (not sure how that's legal)- it'd be interesting to see what planes are in the area right now and what countermeasures they have (tracking government spook aircraft is the sort of thing that subgroup on the Chans enjoys doing).   I expect there will be more vans/box trucks on the ground too.

In the truck an hour or so ago and the Feds have pro-gun control radio slots (x92.9 out of Calgary). The usual shit about 'banning assault weapons', 'public safety', etc. Calling it now that the next big distraction is another sweeping ban on anything made after the Bronze Age. Before the end of the month, with or without the necessary 'incident'.

Much more than an hour away.

News is reporting 90min waits and building, at the blue water bridge.

I just drove to port Huron. That wait is going to be more like 5 hour MIN.

Trucks are backed up almost to the wadhams road exit. Never seen anything like this before.

If you google map, the ambassador bridge to the blue water bridge right now, it tells you to go through Canda for the faster route. Mind you it does tell you about tolls and covid crossing restrictions.

That is escalating in a way that should make everyone involved concerned.

Lashing out wildly is never a good sign. It's particularly troubling when you consider that Canadian authorities have absolutely no jurisdiction over American citizens on American soil. I would assume someone in his shoes would be well aware of that. And therefore I'm forced to believe that he knows he cannot control the situation he wants to control & is attempting to control other things.

Hopefully someone close to him can reel him in & get him reattached to reality before his outbursts lead to bloodshed.

I believe there is an extradition treaty with Canada. I don't know how that will play into this.
Principle of double criminality. If the act isn't criminal in the US as well as Canada, they can't extradite. If they come to take me into custody for donating $100 to the Canuck truckers, I'm filling the sprinklers with gasoline and going out in a blaze of glory.

Anything like that will be judged by a liberal federal judge here in America. You have another thing coming if you think the US won't go along.

This is real life not checkers and laws don't really matter anymore.

It's like when our side was saying they can't arrest Jan 6th people just for trespassing and now some have been sitting in jail for longer than they could be sentenced for trespassing.

Anybody else find the Canadian flag gross now?

Quite the opposite here.  The unity and restraint being shown under that flag by people being choked out by their own government, well, is inspiring.  I've put up a small Canadian flag in the cab of my pickup.  I think a second one will join it.

Those stupid bastards are so out of touch and what they are currently doing may cause the entire country to go hot.
They think they are shutting down a protest, they are not.

This was a week ago, but it is worth sharing again.

And on another note...

Law enforcement agencies in Ottawa have made 23 arrests and issued more than 1,300 tickets related to the anti-mandate and anti-government protests in Canadia's capital, the municipal police service said.
“There have been 23 arrests in relation to criminal charges,” Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said in a press release on Tuesday.
The charges include mischief, resisting arrest, breach of probation among other infractions, the statement said.
In addition, police officers have issued more than 1,300 tickets for a variety of infractions, such as excessive noise, use of fireworks and red light violations, the statement said.
An additional 85 investigations are ongoing, the statement also said.

They have a change.org petition to ask cops to remove the Truckers.

46,527 signed it so far.  I would be tempted to sign it as Castro Jr as a joke, but don't wanna assist them even in the appearance of people supporting their goal.  Why are these loonies so opposed to freedom?  The protest isn't anti-vax, just pro-choice and anti-mandate!

The Freedom Rally has been going on for five days and shows no signs of ending of its own volition. In the meantime, residents of downtown— including vulnerable homeless and mentally ill — are being directly affected by constant noise, and a party atmosphere of bad behaviour. Furthermore, traffic to the core has been cut off, preventing thousands of citizens from accessing their jobs or other crucial services for life.
To this, the Ottawa Police has done nothing, except curtailing the worst offences (after statue and monument desecrations). Otherwise we see on social media a lot of support for the protesters, while the official word is that their hands are tied.

Enough is enough — we support the right to protest. But even if this was a legitimate movement with a coherent message, it would still be past time to allow the normal and harmonious life of the city to resume. We demand that the police of this city do their job for this city, and that means clearing streets, and ticketing vehicle and noise infractions. Not taking selfies and making excuses.
