She is “shocked and dismayed at the recent attack on my identity.”
Hired a genealogist two years ago to help her establish her claims and that project is underway. However an investigation by CBC News said Dr Bourassa’s genealogical records showed she was not Indigenous at all, but rather had an entirely European ancestry. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/canada-health-expert-indigenous-status-b1950400.html |

As someone who is 1/32 Native American, I am triggered and need reparations. Of course, since it's from Canada they'd be in the form of beaver pelts and syrup, but I'm ok with that.

IF, and that's a big IF, her story is true, then I don't really see the problem with her claiming she is Indian. Culturally, she was raised among them, so the genetics shouldn't really matter. But now the big IF is whether her stories are bullshit or not. |

How?? She looks to me like a mix of white and beaver. Long cold nights up there in the lodge in Canada......oh Canada......

Got her tips on cultural appropriation from Alec Baldwin’s wife.

Not since 1945 has there been a western government as preoccupied with race as western governments as a whole are today.

So wouldn't someone raised indigenous have a greater claim to being called an Indian even if their DNA is European? All the contradictions the left plays with confuse me. |

Natives are all about Blood Quantum, because you can trace that to sweet sweet federal bucks and set asides. Its bad in the US, terrible in Canada. Not DNA, not a childhood on the Res, just a 19th century signature with all of the due diligence that a mule was sold with. Half of the Natives in Quebec would have no claim at all without Catholic baptism records (which are now decried as white Colonialism.)
There is no doubt in my mind that as far as racial conditions go, Native women perhaps have it the worst in North America. The fact that's nearly universally because of their own tribes is the sticking point, and the conditions that keep conditions on the Reservation the way they are (the worst combination of Federal mismanagement with local execution possible, on both sides of the border.) The reason it persists that most do-gooder liberals can't point to a Reservation on the map, let tell the differences between tribes and the impact thereof. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Bourassa didn’t offer any genealogical evidence that she is Métis, Anishnaabe or Tlingit. Instead, she said she became Métis in her 20s, when she was adopted into the community by a Métis friend of her grandfather, Clifford Laroque, who has since died. “Even though Clifford passed, those bonds are even deeper than death because the family has taken me as if I was their blood family. In turn, I serve the Métis community to the best of my ability,” she wrote. She says she has been adopted into five other communities as well. She didn’t offer any explanation as to why she claimed to have been born into a family with Métis, Anishnaabe and Tlingit roots. well-there-it-is.gif |

"Indigenous health" ... hmmm yeah, someone tell me the average age that native north americans have reached for the last, let's just call it at 200 years and ignore the part before they had access to honkey medicine at all. I'll wait. Oh yeah, it's something radically lower than the average for whites because, indigenous health care. You know what they'd call indigenous medicine if it worked? "Medicine". |
