Prosecutors in New Mexico plan to drop an involuntary manslaughter charge against Alec Baldwin in the fatal 2021 shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the Western film “Rust," Baldwin's attorneys said Thursday. “We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident," Baldwin's attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro said in a statement. Prosecutors didn't immediately comment on the case. It wasn't immediately clear whether charges could be refiled. Baldwin and the film's weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed were both charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting. |

My GOD, this is shocking!
lol, not really. Money buys "justice", and always has. |

They've dismissed without prejudice. It suggests they want to gather more before prosecuting.

The Armorer chick is the only one going down for this. Baldwin got let loose because he has money and connections.

Just took a little time for the heat to die down and for enough money to be spent where needed. Did anyone really think he would go to trial?
Four basic rules that are easy to remember would have prevented this. F O U R little rules |

The Simpsons call it once again. “I should put you away Where you can’t kill or maim us But this is LA And you’re rich and famous” |

Wasn't she making a documentary about, or investigating pedophiles in Hollywood or the government??? He did them a favor and they protected him

Some of us probably had more thorough inquiries into our shooting of enemy combatants in the GWOT.
Alec was a scumbag long before he killed Halyna Hutchins. |

This was a weak case that had nothing to do with "the four rules." He didn't buy his way out of it, they had a shit case.
Charging him then dropping the charges seem the acts of idiots |
|
I read an article a few days ago that said Baldwin would be returning to the set to finish the movie.
I guess they knew the fix was in. |

That's a shocker...
I haven't been keeping up, was it a Colt 4 click or some Uberti with a transfer bar? |

In NM the date of arraignment starts the clock on his right to a speedy trial. This is the end of the road for everything but the civil suits. |

Baldwin is a priest in the church of progressivism and there was never a chance they were going to try him.

This wasn’t big city liberal movie star gets off for being good marxist, this is a small town inept DA that was blowing the case from the jump. New DA may recharge but doesn’t want to put the cart before the horse like the first did.

not the least bit surprising.
Shit for brains prosecutor that spent way too much time on the press, and not enough time actually putting together a good case. defendant that could afford the most expensive lawyers on the planet. Factor in the press being on the side of the defendant, and yeah, this was going NO where. |

A sanctioned two tier justice system could not reach a different outcome.
No anti Trump message here. None. |

Imagine that!! Hollywood elite gets to play by a different set of rules?! Shocking, I tell ya!

I've thought all along that she should unless there's some belief Baldwin put a live round in the chamber. But outside of a self defense scenario, if you pull the trigger and somebody dies, I'm generally of the thought that there should be a criminal trial. I think that the victim deserves that. And frankly, I think that the public at large needs to see how firearms are being handled on movie sets, especially low budget sets. |
