The SCAR, ACR, MCX, are all pretty much based on the AR180. This rifle is intresting. It shows a shift in their approach to combat. They have embraced optics and clearly built a rifle set up to use optics vs their old QBZ-95 rifle that had a 12" height over bore with the optic mounted. It was very clearly an after thought. The rending of garments over "dEy AlWaYs CoPyInG tHiNgS" is amusing: If you had a MASSIVE military (manpower wise) and needed weapons platforms quickly and needed to spend a majority of your capital on the weapon, NOT R&D, what would you do? The more money you save on R&D means more rifles, missiles, aircraft, etc...
Also, the companies producing arms and weapon systems are VASTLY different enterprises than Plant #17 in Chenzou producing rubber dog shit. It's akin to another country calling Raytheon or Colt Manufacturing shit because our country also houses Ford/Dodge/Chevy.  Ethnocentrism and complacency have bred decadence in US society and it will be our downfall... |
