Fox just said Subic Bay will be reopened with Philippine Government blessing to piss off the ChiCommies.
As to Balloon Gate, too little too late. Time to park a sub wolf pack between Chyna and Taiwan and see if they fuck around! Some are saying the tech package was blown up. Not what I saw on that video. The balloon was destroyed and you can see the tech package falling from the proofed balloon. Question now is will we be able to recover it?!?! |

Hardware recovery would have been nice but it was seemingly decided that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. All we can collect is everything we already know. The balloon wasn't collecting and transmitting Intel about China! Letting the balloon traverse our country, including a number of sensitive sites, is criminal. None of that makes any sense. hmmm, they have F-16's |

Watch the latest clip, He does. “I told them to shoot it down on Wednesday”. Total embarrassment.
But replies in this thread are pure gold. |

Quoted: They know more about the F22 that did something within the fighter and missile envelope that's published on wikipedia? lol ok. THEY TRICKED US GANG! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BKpj2InCQAAfVQJ?format=jpg&name=small View Quote They certainly could have gather radar or heat signature at close range. Bomb bay doors opening. Radio encryption and frequency data, weapons system data from point blank range. While the F22 is not exactly a secret, the Chinese have never gotten a chance to gobble up all that data from so close. Anything the Combat Sent, E8, and Rivet Joint were getting, this could have been doing exactly the same back. |

Quoted: Quoted: - lol at the "goin hot" cheerleaders - the commies almost certainly rigged the payload to separate in case of lifting body disturbance - super-light fragile structure, robotics, comms, and other electronics will frag heavily on hitting water at terminal velocity - nothing to recover except the bag and bits of frames/panels - water shootdown ensures coverup complete - everyone involved was just following orders You must be fun at parties funny thing is, he's not wrong. |

Totally obliterated the hardware suite. Nice footage, though. Yeah, I'm not an expert on shooting down Chinese spy balloons, but I would have thought a fighter with a 20mm cannon would have deflated it and it would have fallen relatively slowly with the balloon creating a bunch of drag acting as sort of a parachute. Certainly would have suffered some damage at impact but probably wouldn't be destroyed. |

We'll never know any of the details, but you can bet your bottom dollar we soaked that thing before splashing it. Good execution by the 'doers. Attached File |

Seems like a better plan would have been an F15 and a couple bursts from the M61, rather than to target the payload with a missile from an F22.
F15 is supposed to have a higher service ceiling anyways. |

Quoted: Quoted: Here's the potato.... Biden wanted to shoot it Wednesday but Pentagon wanted to wait. I thought it showed up Thursday. NORAD can track Santa across the globe but apparently this balloon used unconventional tactics that evaded detection. |

Maybe I'm slow but why couldn't they have just towed it away days ago with some sort of grappling hook on a plane?

Perhaps what we see is the solar panels but maybe the tech pack itself may still be intact. We shall see but yes, I stand corrected. |

It could have bottles of extra helium or hydrogen onboard to keep the envelope pressurized in case of small leaks. Kharn |

That was entertaining at least, embarrassing for the country though.

I'll let the real pilots talk more if they want to though but I don't think most people understand how big this fucking thing was. Here's a hint, my house is smaller. |

The precision isn't as great as a seeker head, but at least you've got a good chance of not completely destroying the hardware. |
