BOTD (Babe of the Day) specific. Due to the ongoing problems with pics of scantily-clad women being posted on the site we have decided to make a change. They will still be allowed, however, effective immediately they will be limited to the BOTD forum only (this forum is available to Team members only). Our mods and staff have simply had to spend too much time dealing with this issue, so this is necessary. We may review this and make further changes, but your cooperation is appreciated. Any pics which are posted in GD are expected to be "G-rated" and NOT show such things as cleavage or excessively short skirts/shorts; this includes photos of scantily clad men or women . Bikini pics may ONLY be posted in the BOTD forum, and under the rules posted in that forum. Never considered a firearms website to be G-rated since they’re typically not geared towards 5-10 year olds. Ever see gun commercials on Nickelodeon? Also, this one seems a bit sexist to me. I know. Their website their rules. And boobies. |

I never understood the desire to turn the best firearms site on the web into a mediocre porn site.

If your gonna have a corner for members to share adult material, stop treating the space like something it isnt. |

I can't believe this has to be explained again.
1) People surf ARFcom during breaks at work. Most employers have severe restrictions on content viewed on company networks and / or computers. To prevent members getting in trouble at work, or inadvertently displaying racy content in front of family members who may be offended by it, it is limited to one forum. 2) 'Free speech' does not apply to a privately-owned website. Don't like the rules? Buy your own hardware and software, and develop your own website. |

The fact that some push so hard against CoC here tells me they're less interested in viewing this material than they are interested in discussing it with other forum members.. which is juvenile and weird.

And to think, not that long ago this place was saying how a certain Site Staff's questionable avatar was fine because it was grandfathered.

I went to the "wives" thread, once.
All set on nudity on Arf. The encouragement of even more nudity is cringier than any episode of The Office. |

View Quote Course we also had weirdos here who could not stop posting porn. One sort of otherwise normal guy who posted a lot got banned over it. He seemed like a normal white collar cubicle guy who had a family, but someone who knew him later told me he had (years ago) stacks of CDs filled with his porn collection. He just had millions of porn pictures he had harvested and was just obsessed with it. I still say Arfcom's pinnacle was the weekend of the machinegun bikini babes and tele cockfighting. It was a glorious pinnacle of internet Pirate Ship. I don't even like that sad stripper stuff but it was awesome. And you guys complained and complained and away it went. (okay the cockfighting it a little bit of an exaggeration) |

By those rules virtually any image of a woman in original star trek would be banned. Not certain if that reflects more on the rules or original Trek.

After a little in-depth soul-searching, turns out I don't care either way.

We have too many leg humpers that immediately ask for more pics or post replies related to jerking off. On a gun forum.

I’d be much more okay with the ban on skimpy clothes if it wasn’t for the fact that chainsawing someone’s chest open and ripping their heart out is A-OK.
If the site is PG, keep it PG. If it’s R, let it be R. You can’t enforce a Disney standards on a thread about Miss UK Swimsuit, but then let the next thread show a real human squealing like an animal as he’s being tortured to death. Be consistent. |

View Quote In all these years, we've never had people engaged in some sort of "push the envelope" experiment with grossly violent imagery. It's usually one and done, with plenty of people in the thread bitching about it, discouraging the poster. That is not at all what happened with any skin. Every bit of increased tolerance shown leads to more posters probing out the new line. Dozens of threads a day. Pictures in random threads. It is ridiculously to watch unfold. But. If there is anything people here like more than pushing the nudity envelope, it's expressing feelings of oppression against "the man." So, rage on at the injustice of it all. Something, something, Taliban. |

I get the "slippery slope" "camel's nose under the tent" thought process but "The Site" should allow Mod discretion depending on the topic.
Fight breaks out at protest and a skirt gets pulled revelling a G string isn't the same as check out this cool Jelly Wrestling video. Breaking News Ivanka Trump spotted at nude beach would be a news story but I would be fine with the no image policy. I know where to find them |

It would be nice if it was at least allowed if it was in the context of a story.
