I see that Staff Creative Writing trophy moving to its new home in Aimlesses’ cubicle once the awards committee sees this post.

He’s gonna sober up to glory in the morning.

Man I wanted some of that stuff so bad looking at it in my US Calvary catalog back in the 90s. That and the West German snow camo!

Also remember the subdued urban camo? It had a bluish color to it if I remember right.

Having been forced to wear that camo pattern for the better part of 12 years, I can safely say "fuck that stupid camo pattern!" I knew it was a bad idea when the first guys starting showing up in Korea wearing it in 2005...we were at gunnery, and one of them went into the woodline to take a piss. I could still see exactly where he was from 200m away. I remember reading the article that came out that outlined the different patterns that the Army was considering, seeing the UCP, and thinking "surely that one is not even in the running!"

I bought four brand-new sets in preparation for my PCS to Ft. Eustis to be an instructor, and had everything sewn on, which I honestly prefer to the velcro. Three weeks later, the ALARACT came out that said we were switching to the Scorpion pattern.

I said "fuck it", and wore the UCP for the next 2 and 1/2 years to get my money's worth. Somewhere in the PAO archives at Eustis, there is a picture of a Change of Responsibility for my old Battalion there...if you find it, you will see me, standing in the front row, two to the right of the guidon, the ONLY Soldier there in UCPs. I figured that i would be able to hide away in the back, but they flipped the script on me..."if you are SHORTER than the person in front of you, move forward"...

No idea, but this is my favorite camo pattern. Not for functionality, I just think it looks cool.

Now I want to go and buy some camo pants... well camo fat guy pants... anyway... did we ever choose a camo pattern for the big urban igloo??? I was going to wait until we had an official ARF pattern chosen...

I used to have entire outfits in Urban, BDU Foliage Pattern. It looks fabulous!

I don't believe it was ever actually intended to blend in with anything, but rather to just look damn good!

In sizes up to 3XL. No observing of a bouncing "webley" needed.

I always called it digital UCP camo, still have a couple different colors. I have my woodlands from long ago.

My German 5 color Flecktarn is my favorite.

I personally feel that the wearing camouflage off the hunting field (unless one is in the military and in uniform) to be a major fashion faux pas.

I remember years ago when camo print stuff was all the rage for the ladies, I always thought it looked like shit. I remember reading a fashion designer who basically said the above and I was like

Basically woodland but in grey, black, white. There was a black/blue,grey one as well.
I actually owned this stuff, besides woodland.  Worked pretty well.
I bring you " safariflage " .. iirc rothco still sells it lol.

That pattern rinds me of the British Woodland pattern, just different coloring.....Kinda like a jacked up version of British MTP.

Nope. Can't stand the stuff! Ever since the word came down that it was going away, even for the Guard, people have been TRYING to dump it on us, and we ALREADY have good sized mountain of it at work.  MAkes for some cheap-ish work clothes for around the farm, however.

I remember when camo was fashionable for a certain group.  My employer has a no camo policy.  Sooo many ladies were sent home without pay bc they wanted to look cool

On the scale of faggotry, Navy blueberries tops the list.   Urban ain't even a blip on the radar.

Penguin is released from all liability in this matter.

For the first group, the camo was perfect for the shower standoff.

Subdued urban actually worked well in an indoor paintball venue I used to go to sometimes. I could sit in the middle of the floor in a room of this old dairy building, and take out 2 or 3 guys when they charged in looking for guys behind the provided cover items.

But, I don’t know that that pattern is in your OP, that’s not the “Urban” camo I remember form the bad old days.
