Your statement comes across SUPER weird because I also live in Seattle, and ultra liberals and ultra leftists despise me because I'm pro-2A and anti-sjw. Seattle is just weird. I've taken many of my leftists friends out shooting (or I'll bring out my AR while camping) and have actually done some good on removing a lot of stupid "black scary gun" stereotypes. The thing I find with most leftists is that they're incredibly worried on how they'll be perceived in front of other leftists friends. So they might privately admit they're interested in guns and ask me to help them with gun shopping...but they'll NEVER get on social media and be public about it simply because they know their side will instantly destroy them for not towing the narrative. Yeah, the leftists have "acceptance" but only when it comes to their bubble. The gatekeeping is absolutely brutal. I'm almost 40 and most of my friends are in their late 20s to early 50s. Maybe you're around different people because a majority of my left/right friends are sick and tired of the SJW stuff. Right now I'm seeing a huge backlash because the small group of vocal SJW are basically destroying anything fun...it's like you have to look in a 360 before making a joke in a bar so not to upset anyone. The problem is my friends aren't the vocal types. The SJW movement is a mobilized active group...they're actually a really small minority group but they know how to get their opinions out via social media so it comes across as a bigger deal. Like all of that Buzzfeed BS articles "Everyone is outraged over this______" where as "Everyone" is like 100 people on twitter that bitch about everything but their tiny numbers appear to look larger. I rarely meet real SJW in the wild but I also tend not to hang around areas like Capitol Hill. If anything, most of the people in my area are in software and tend to lean towards libertarianism. Just a mix of keep government out of our shit and learn to pull your bootstraps up. I see a lot of this with my Asian friends...minorities that came from nothing but are now extremely successful. They're too busy making buttloads of money/living life to worry about people like AOC. Mostly all the local pro-2A groups and shooting industry peeps. I was around a TON of sjw types going to college and ALWAYS made sure projects I did had a huge troll factor involved for the lulz (and made the facts and sources air tight in order to get A's). Saw them a lot downtown when I used to party it up a few years back till it got too ridiculous for parking and gross street people. Always fun to yank their chain. Every 4 years on facebook is purge season to see who I can drive off with facts during elections when people I've met in the ensuing period between them start the libtard copy pasta. I like to sort of lull them in for awhile, have intellectual conversations here and there, then start reminding them that I'm a conservative republican when they start going all leftist, then admonish them when they inevitably do the "I thought you were smarter than that" bullshit. Shit, thinking about it, myself and some buddies first real foray against the left was getting busy on wanna be anarchists at the WTO riots. And yes, I don't selectively quote his stuff...I read Trump's full speech paragraphs before/after so not to be accused of selectively editing his meaning It's Trump's OWN WORDS that I have the most issues with. Trump's speeches remind me a of a mix of two things.
