Me and my 11 year old boy along with some friends completed a 10 mile long grueling hike through the snow covered mountains to reach a pit we had heard about. Awesome cave with lots of passage. Was blowing steam out the entrance which is in a 15' deep sink that launches you into a 120' drop.
The 1st picture is of my son dropping in. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

This one photo looks familiar. I dont think you should go in there, the cave is alive.

Thanks for sharing the photos. It's amazing how there can be huge caverns below our feet and the only evidence of such is a hole in the ground. |

Awesome post and pictures. I hope you update this thread as you explore the cave.

This might be a stupid question but....
Do you have to climb up a 120' rope to get out or does someone up top pull you back up? |

View Quote Yes, you ascend up the rope you dropped in on and it is a tiring climb using a combination of hand and chest ascenders to slowly pull yourself up about a foot at a time. I was sweating from assertion about 1/2 way up. It's all fun though! |

Thanks OP really cool! Wish I had a chance to hit some those places with yall.

This is my son a few years back practicing ascending on our climbing station in our front yard. He's using the blue hand ascender to pull himself up the line while simultaneously stepping up into his foot sling attached to the hand ascender. On his chest is an auto-locking chest ascender that holds him in place while he slides the hand ascender up again. |

120' drop! Were there piles of small animal bones on the ground there?
Looks like a treacherous hole to stumble in to. |

This is cool. Standing room and expansive structure.
Not nutty putty style |

What kind of ascender do you use or is this a abseil in one place, then walk out another opening cave?

Keep doing shit like that with your 11 year old and the next thing you know
he is doing ass kicking things for the Army. Unintended consequences. Ask me how I know? |
