Photobucket.
Seriously Ho, it’s been 17 years since you left. You can keep our old photographs, I don’t want to look at them again. I’m so over you, and I ain’t coming back. Like, ever. Stop emailing me. We’re done. |

Something reads OP wants her back, really really bad.
OP's been saving up for 17 years, for this very moment |

Happened to me, we were 16. Almost 15 years later, I got a letter. We dated for about a year then she flipped her shit. Get the fuck out bitch, this was a bad idea. Haven't heard from her in a few years fortunately.

Photobucket single handedly removed large swaths of knowledge from the internet. So many forums from years ago are worthless because of what Photobucket did. I am still pissed about all of the reef aquarium pictures I had and lost.
I hope a illegal janitor dumps the mop bucket on their servers. |

Its time to drop all the pay services and "roll your own" / self host.
Why Self-Host? With Wendell from Level1techs Main self hosted show page |

I'm still getting them as well. I wonder how much they are wanting to be able to access the old photos?
|

When they pulled that stunt, I deleted all of my pics and canceled my account. They don't contact me at all.
|
|
I think I even went in once an affirmed my intent to never sign up.
IT'S OVER!!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!! Smells like desperation. |
|
Hahaha, I thought this was my own personal struggle.
They keep threatening to close my account, which has nothing in it, but they NEVER DO! Please... just leave. I've tried to go delete my account but I can't even figure out how to do that without signing up for a plan with them! |

I downloaded and deleted all my photos when they announced the "pay to play" scheme. I left this one as the only pic in my bucket.

Photo bucket. I don't get those emails much anymore. But maybe they go straight to junk.
|
|
They began with a retarded business model, then changed direction midcourse and absolutely hosed YEARS of posted content. |
|
Your photos aren't loading, OP.
Better check your Photobucket account. |

Just thought of something interesting: 17 years ago, I didn’t have the same email I do today. That means that photobucket is PAYING to keep tabs on me in the hopes they can pressure me into paying for photos I haven’t cared to look at in almost 2 decades.
Dumbasses. |

Legit, fuck photobucket.
Also, learn from this fail: never make the cloud your only means of digital storage. |

Think I only used it a few times way, way back for gun and accessory pictures I needed hosting for that I was selling. |

It’s a great analogy.
Ultimatums kill relationships. They make you assess the pros and cons. |
|
Also according to Wikipedia:
"At its peak, Photobucket employed 120 people and accounted for 2% of American internet traffic. In 2019, the company employed 10 and ranked approx. 1,500th according to Alexa." Lol, that's quite the fail. |

Two months ago I got that email, and went to download my pictures and close my account. Of course I couldn't log in to my account without paying for a year first, but when I emailed in a complaint that I just wanted to get my pictures they actually let me get them, and then sent them to me in emails, and deleted my account as I requested. So at least one of the service techs at photobucket are able and willing to provide decent support.

Quoted: Not only that, but when that shit happened I downloaded all my photos and then deleted all the photos on PB. At some point, they restored them and now threaten to delete them. Wasn't this over money and it totally backfired on them? https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/101506/photobucket-3315229.jpg View Quote At one point pretty much 99% of internet forum users were using Photobucket for inline image hosting. Photobucket comes out of left field and says if you want to embed or hotlink images from our site, you have to have a Photobucket Premium account. Iiirc they gave people like 30 days to take action. Then when Photobucket disabled hotlinking and embedding for non-Premium accounts, it ruined tons and tons and tons of content on the web - both on forums and on independent web sites. Sure you can say they were freeloading and they should've had their own image hosting solutions, but man... To this day there is a lot of archived content on the web for various hobby forums and sites that is now useless because the photos are long gone. I hate it when I look up a guide for something on an older project vehicle that I have, and the info was found in some content from the mid 2000/2010s that is now barren of any photos. ETA I just looked it up and their Premium plan that allowed embedding and linking was $400 a year. LOL They could've been Instagram but they shot themselves in the foot. |

Whoever is their CEO they must be weapons grade retarded. I can't imagine being hired to run a company and lose 98% of their users in one stupid threat in 30 days flat.
|
|
then trying to charge people to get their own pictures is peak stupidity. What loose ass diseased twat bubble thought that was a good idea?
|
|
Most of the photos were for this site anyway and I’ve long since used Arfcom’s own hosting service to post them anyway.
