I know this is isn't supposed to be said out loud, but if it weren't for slavery 90% of these millionaires would be drinking cow urine and living in a mud hut right now, that is if they survived being born.
Fucking assholes, all of them.

Good.  Quit the plantation and go work in a McDonald's.  Problem solved.

Funny how poor people never protest. Its always rich black professional athletes or rich kids from white suburbia.

A little bit more eloquently put:

"The people made worse off by slavery were those who were enslaved. Their descendants would have been worse off today if born in Africa instead of America. Put differently, the terrible fate of their ancestors benefitted them."

Even setting that aside, most masters were not sadistic torture fanatics (though surely they did exist), why would you want to damage your agricultural equipment without reason?

You own it forever, so you'd be motivated to keep said equipment in good condition to maximize its production and your profit (ROI)

It would be like getting pissed at your new International Harvester and then bashing out the windshield and slashing the tires.

With that said, I'm sure life in Africa caught in constant tribal warfare wasn't a great existence either, especially after your tribe lost the war, so the choices would probably be slavery, or death.

Visit the plantation/museums down south. Slaves were very expensive. Most here couldn't afford them even today.

Look at my Location, I've been to more than a few Slavery Museums and Plantations.

My family came over as Indentured Servants, then moved on to Sharecropping.

You are correct though, IF the population of GD was moved back into the 1840s for example, there'd be a whole lot of Indentured Servants, Sharecroppers, and Apprentices all of which are only a small stones throw from outright Slavery

I'd argue Indentured Servitude was worse than Outright Slavery, its like Leasing or Renting Equipment vs Buying one.

I agree with all you are saying. Plenty of whites were discriminated against and taken advantage of. Native Americans were just shot outright. Ultimately, the turning point was the passage of the Civil Rights act of 1964. That changed everything. Now all the complaints are just the whining of ingrates.
