I'm sorta brain dead. Really! But is there much difference from banning smokers in the store vs banning gay people from the store? Smokers aren't banned from places AFAIK - the act of smoking is banned. I'm willing to bet sexual acts are banned - either homosexual or heterosexual acts. Smokers are banned from employment, not just the act on property. Just like gays, smokers aren't a protected class by federal law. Smokers are banned from employment or health plan premiums can be jacked up because of tobacco usage? Yes. Edit I can't wait until homo behavior is classified as high risk group for insurance purpose. Much higher diseas and health risk. |

Find me anything inthe us constitution that prevents free expression and practice of store keeper religion. Gays aren't a protected class. But that's their next goal. They've already said it. If you read the thread, you'll have noticed I said pretty much the same thing early on in it. The person I quoted, however, intimated that it was against the store owner's religious beliefs to do business with homosexuals. Even I, an atheist, know that there is nothing in the Bible which say it is wrong to do business with sinners. Selling a sinner some lumber or some nails isn't condoning their sin; it's earning some money, which leads to profit, which leads to tithing in the collection plate of a devout Christian's local church. The part-time pastor/hardware store owner in the linked article was doing nothing more than grandstanding, in an effort to draw attention to himself and make known his displeasure at the SCOTUS' decision. What he wasn't doing was living up to the ideals espoused within the book he so publicly states is the guide for how he lives his life. Allegedly, Jesus Christ, himself, hung out, dined, and traveled with prostitutes, thieves, and other ne'er-do-wells. What He reportedly didn't do was refuse to have dealings with them, which would have denied Him the opportunity to witness to them and show them why His plan was better than their own. After all, isn't one of Christ's commandments for the new church to witness to sinners, in order for them to realize the errors or their ways, to repent, and to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? It's kind of hard to follow that instruction if you're telling those sinners to stay as far away from you as possible. |

Despite how you misinterpret the teachings in your book, you can't use it as a shield from behind which you can discriminate against people. The simple fact of the matter is, it's only a matter of time before discrimination based on sexual orientation or identification is illegal. And, even if discrimination based on sexual preference isn't illegal, once you use your religious beliefs as the basis for your argument, you have begun making the argument that you are discriminating against them because they don't have the same religious beliefs as you. And, guess what, folks, discriminating against someone because their religious views differ from your own is illegal discrimination. |

While I don't give a rats ass about what some gay couple does I am getting damn tired of all the awareness crap they force feed our society! A lot of the blame is the media who can't seem to quit talking about. what you do in your own home that doesn't affect anyone else is your business.
In my small part of the world I think I know 2 guys and two girls who lean this way and they are decent folks who are near as normal socially as anyone else. They certainly don't dress or act any different in public than anyone else. Would I do business with them, yes. However if you come in all flagrant and demanding special treatment regardless of whether your straight, queer, tranny, or whatever else I would pass on serving you, hell yes. Sue me if you want but at the end of the day I will do right by my faith which I believe defines marriage is one man and one woman. Treat me right and I will treat you the same. With one exception, I think Bruce Jenner should have just remained Bruce the Olympic Champion! |

His store, his rules. There maybe two gay people in the whole county and they are still in the closet. It's all backwoods hill country people and he will gain business by posting this sign not lose it. |

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Eh, think he's stupid to turn down business, but I think it should be his right to do so. I agree, unfortunately I don't think this will end well for him. It won't end well for the country during the next campaign season. All the people that think or hope that there is a backlash and a swelling of opposition are going to find out that all the blowhards yapping on the media right now are basically proving what the media has said about the republicans all along. That's all that will be remembered. Unless the economy totally falls apart by then but the republicans will be blamed for that, after all, they have the majority. Of course they've green stamped obamas policies so I guess the blame will pretty much be justified. But go ahead. Enjoy your moment. |

if i had a business that was failing.. ( not saying this guys is).. id stick up a no gays sign..... start a internet stink....... get a facebook / internet crusade going...... then bemoan the fact im losing business..... start a go fund me account.. then rake in a million bucks from the gay haters, and go out of business a month later... " cause i fear for my life"... boom.... retired... just like if you have a failing country.... you attack america.. then get carpet bombed.... and a month later were giving you billions to rebuild your busted assed shithole country. its money in the bank. View Quote If only it worked that way. When I left Iraq for the last time at the end of 2010, they were still living in mud huts, electricity was still a luxury and spotty and the country was still a shithole overall. |

Bullshit! That dog just don't hunt. Any book that states attraction isn't a choice was written by someone with an agenda. We have ultimate mental control over our choices, and sexual attraction is an emotional & physical choice. You are about to read why your theory just went to shit, along with that of all the books you've read, and have been written on the subject. Here goes, using your logic; A pedophile cannot control their choice to have sex with children, so I guess that's alright because sexual attraction isn't a choice. View Quote Attraction does equal action. When did you make a conscious decision that you are a heterosexual male attracted to brunettes with small tits & a large ass? |
