I wonder if at some point, some of these people will tire of getting sucked down the Clinton drain hole.

It's not as if there is any reason for them to protect her at this point. She holds no apparent power.

Or, are they just the truest of true believers?

I would think at least one or two of them would be looking to cut a deal at this point, unless they're confident that they will be protected by the swamp itself.

Man is doubling down

If you've seen his tweets since about last year he's gone far beyond that.

He and Comey are trying to portray themselves as the purest of pure federal agents who loved their people and carried copies of the Constitution with them everywhere they went. Anything negative about them or their departments has been turned around as Republicans attacking the rule of law and the individual agents (which in some cases is true).

Under the federal system you have 2 options when you go to retire, take leave and either just sit at home on vacation time until the gold watch ceremony then come in for a full day of potlucks, hand shakes, and back pats, then you are off(this effectively leaves you with retiring at 30 years, and zero days bonus), retire at 30 years and then use your leave to extend your end date(ie 30 years 3 months, but this only helps raise the pension payments on a monthly basis, basically it would raise the amount of the pension by .25%, so if he retired the first way it would be 30 years and zero months pension might be 175k(annual salary)*30%= 45k per year vs 175K*30.25% (46K yearly in pension payments). The second way is actually better because he gets A more time in agency, and B the regular paychecks(life insurance, medical insurance, 401k matching, ect ect) while he is "employed"(but sitting on his couch with a mai thai in hand)
