View Quote It will be interesting to have one as a historic artefact. Because someone WILL get killed by one of those turds because of the fingerprint reader not working properly. Company will get sued and then goes the way of the dodo. Mark my words. In short: That's super retarded, Sir |

When will Biden's Secret Service protective detail adopt them?

How many times on your mobile phone have you tried biometrics and it says "try again". This is a terrible idea!
|

As dumb as the SHOT Show guy that had a trigger activated light.

This is the type of common sense gun control we need to help end the gun violence epidemic.

Not good for people living in states with laws on the books tied to personalized "smart" gun technology.

Typical liberal mind set. Recognize the problem, diagnose it incorrectly, then when you don't get the desired outcome double down on the treatment.
This is furthering the belief guns are the problem. Retarded. |

I'll consider one after a military branch or significant law enforcement department has used them and is satisfied for a few years.

There will be zero real world impact on crime or accidents but they will be made mandatory.
|
|
How will that stop the last two mass shooters who legally bought their guns?
|
|
Oh good! I'll hang it right next to all the handguns I have with magazine safeties...

Thieves will have to chop off owners finger while taking the gun. Simple work around

|
“… it could significantly help curb the gun crisis”
The issue we have here is that we don’t have a gun crisis. This “smart” gun as the answer to a question no sane person is asking. |

I watched some of the gun Jesus video but not the whole thing.
What's stopping someone from physically disabling the safety mechanism? Is it a piece that moves into place that allows function or something that's moved out of the way that can be disabled with a Dremel? |

There’s no direct mechanical link between the trigger and firing mechanism - it’s all run through the electronics. |

Just another stupid idea from a stupid person. And a way to relieve other idiots of their money. If you are that stupid in handling firearms I think you need to take up knitting. Have I used stupid a lot?
I wonder what the final act in this clown world will be. Should be spectacular. |

View Quote They would be correct.....if every gun out there was replaced with these, and they function as intended. Guess what IS NOT going to happen? But really, the antis have been drooling over this. If the tech proves viable they will try to mandate these specifically. Hell, they'll try even if it isnt. They already have. |

1st gen stuff never works right. Get back to me after a decade of refinement. Then it will probably be very cool.

So my iPhone can’t recognize my fingerprint if I’ve been working outside and my hands are dirty or wet but we’re supposed to believe this is gtg? Lol fuck that.

And what if I didn't put it on the wireless charger last night so the battery is dead? |

All that's going to happen is these weapons will get stolen, then the thief will jump onto the internet and search for "How to bypass fingerprint thing on xxxx" and there will be a thousand sites detailing exactly how to do so. Or they'll just figure it out themselves. (And then post it on the internet)
Ultimately, a firearm is just a tube where a spring loaded pin smacks a primer when given the opportunity, everything else attached to that is irrelevant. Even if you switched to electronic fired cartridges, that's still just (another) google search and a few parts from aliexpress to get around. It's not the 80's any more, where the encyclopedia Britannica was considered a vast swath of knowledge - we live in a world of freely available information now, and need to live accordingly. |

I've used biometrics enough times on my phone to know how utterly unreliable it is.

I simply watched Ian’s video explaining and demoing it, which is why I’m able to answer some of these questions. I’m not promoting the thing. |
