No, they are copying their own design, you just picked the wrong Bronco generation to compare it to.
The ones you pictured were heavy and got horrendous gas mileage (back when people didn't care as much because gas was cheap). |
It is styled after the original.
I would have one if they towed more. 3500lbs just isn't enough for me. |
Look at this fucking poptart that doesn't know shit about Broncos.

Lol.
I suggest you look up a 77 and back Bronco and rethink your post, you could have at least picked a first gen FSB for an example. Also get that chalky fally aparty bullnose interior bullshit out of here. |

Ah yes, more like my 1990 Eddie Bauer? Ride like a brick, 10mpg whether I was towing a boat or just cruising down the highway, and oh that road noise.
Still loved it. |

If my wife and I wanted a regular cab shortbed F150 with bedcap we would have gotten one....

You’re right OP, that’s probably why all the dealerships are giving them away for half cost and they are piling up on lots because everyone thinks the same as you.

What does the LAPD and OJ Simpson have in common? They both cant catch a Bronco.

And I never said that Ford failed they obviously are popular and appeal to many just not me, because they went with Unibody frame on the Bronco Sport, however at least went with Body-on-frame with Bronco but styling that resembles Jeep instead of F150.
Fixed it because its a national tragedy here to make a mistake about chassis type with two models of Bronco line. |

In this thread we learn OP likes boys and knows nothing about Broncos.

Look,
We all know that the history of Broncos pretty much boils down to the full-sized/SUV and the smaller one.... Regardless of the two, the monstrosity they are passing off as Broncos now a days is a shitty Land Rover Defender - nothing close to a Jeep and/or a Bronco. Ford failed....and if it really wanted to celebrate bringing back the Bronco, they should have opted to reboot the full-sized/SUV....but nooooooo, now a days a bunch of slack-jawed F-s driving vehicles now a days - where testosterone levels need to be checked and a bunch of Karens thinking they are driving some sort of vehicle with power to it |
OP didn’t mess up. Some of y’all just can’t read.
Best bronco type vehicle is a Land Cruiser. |

It's fine, the interior is a bit cheap IMHO and they need to build a long wheelbase (4dr) with two doors.

View Quote If that was your opening statement you wouldn't be getting the same pushback. You also keep saying it looks like a Jeep even though it is clearly made to resemble the original Bronco. There's no way you can look at them side by side and say they look more like a jeep. The big broncos were cool but they were basically an F-150 with a smaller bed. |
IMO, the Bronco falls short in 3 ways; it is not a solid axel front, it's towing capacity is 3500 lbs +/- depending on the model and it's payload is around 1,100 pounds +/- depending on the model.
The solid axel makes sense since 99% of SUV owners, including Jeep owners will never need the benefits of off road performance gained by a solid axel. The towing capacity is also adequate for most people, as is the payload. I just think a relatively large body on frame, 300 horsepower, 400 lb/ft torque vehicle should tow and haul more. |
I've got to agree with OP. I wouldn't own one of the new ones. Had a '95 back in the day and loved it, fuel economy aside. I'd have been down with Ford's reboot if it were on a full sized truck chassis with full sized truck towing capacity. A true utility body truck that predated the "SUV" thing. This dinky little thing is just another glorified 4x4 car... doesn't really even count as a truck.
I disagree with op completely. The concept he posted looks terrible to me. An f150 suv? You mean a ford expedition that they make?
Had an 87, great truck but too heavy for offroading IMHO. Couldn't climb very well. My friends surplus forest service short bed/single cab chevy outclimbed me. The shorter wheel base was nice though.
Wanted to lift it and install lockers but never got to it. Would've been a beast. |
