Cast your mind back. It's a crisp September morning. You borrowed $200 from me  to purchase the car...mainly because your girlfriend Beth said it was...I believe the term was "tasty." Since then, that "tasty" car has slept in an auto cocoon on my front lawn.

I don’t think he thought it was going to be serious film so much as a more traditional teen comedy/romance.
Like I said, I just watched it recently, and in all honestly, it’s not really sure what kind of movie it wants to be be.
Still like it though.

Interview with Steve Holland,

Savage Steve Holland stated in an interview that John Cusack hated this movie and walked out of the film after twenty minutes during a special screening prior to the star of production on One Crazy Summer (1986). Holland said: "The next morning [Cusack] basically walked up to me and was like, 'You know, you tricked me. 'Better Off Dead...' was the worst thing I have ever seen. I will never trust you as a director ever again, so don't speak to me' . . . He was just really upset. And I said, 'What happened?! What's wrong?!' And he just said that I sucked, and it was the worst thing he had ever seen, and that I had used him, and made a fool out of him, and all this other stuff . . . It was so out of left field that it just floored me."

What a douche. As if his supporting performance in “Sixteen Candles” was like Lawrence Fucking Olivier.

It is heartwarming to be amongst these jolly men that recall all the great lines of this 80's cult classic.

Fun fact, John Cusack thought he was auditioning for a serious movie and was pissed off when later found out it was a comedy.  I guess his reading comprehension sucks

So he wanted to do Breakfast Club II, but ended up in One Crazy Summer On The Mountain?
