So I haven't had fresh shrimp in a long while, because, well, Arizona. I don't know what to do with it. Suggestions? Jumbos, so no ceviche or shrimp tacos. Fra diavolo is out because the toddlers don't like too hot. No alfredo because I don't want the flavor distracted by a ton of sauce and we did alfredo last weekend. Don't want to grill them and risk drying them out.
I need help with this one, I'm considering it a treat. What would you do with them? |

I steam mine with old bay. They're about 7.99/lb from the fish monger.

I like a shrimp creole now and then. Or you could bacon wrap them and grill them, probably won't dry out. Probably.

I live on the Gulf.
What variety of Shrimp have you got? Royal Reds? Whites? ? Royals I go scampi over rice. Heavy on the garlic. These are deep water shrimp that are like little lobsters. Whites I like crispy fried with slap yo mama in both the wash and dredge. |

I would be having a boil, I do shrimp almost weekly. I would recommend potato’s sausage, corn and mushrooms.

Beaufort Boil!!!!
In a big pot of rolling boiling water add your Old Bay, Zatarans, and other seasonings, medium red potatoes and Hillshire Farms or similar smoked sausage sliced into about 1 to 1 1/4 inch segments, (the HOT sausage if you can find it). After about fifteen minutes drop in whole corn on the cobb and cook about 7 more minutes. Then drop the shrimp in to cook for 2 to 3 minutes max. Strain all the goodies out of the broth and dump them in a pan. Using Tongs, serve with spicy cocktail sauce, butter and salt, and adult beverage of your choice. ENJOY |

I get them on a regular basis and sauté them with butter, mushrooms and garlic, then add some Alfredo to them. However I see you said no Alfredo.
If you are focusing on the shrimp alone, I would sauté in butter and garlic, steam or shrimp boil. |

Dry them out?
Marinate in fresh chopped garlic and EVOO for 30 minutes. Grill, just dont overcook them. Make linguini with just butter and fresh thyme leaves. Top with steamed asparagus (chopped in about 2 in. sections), then top that with the shrimp. Enjoy. ETA: Big flavor with just a few simple ingredients. |

Salt and butter. Don't over cook them, flip when one side turns opaque. 2 minutes max.

Noted for future, frozen shrimp. We eat a lot of it, but don't usually get fresh unless one of us goes to Mexico and brings it back. I want to start making boils, but it won't be with this batch. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
