Cut the fin off so you dont have a 1-2# fish dangling on it and yanking it around
go to ER Hit it with local prep with betadine make small cut with scalpel to enlarge wound tract pull it out irrigate the heck out of the wound insert small drain, 1/4" penrose broad spectrum antibiotic pray it doesn't abscess and need to be opened up cool scar and funny story, no matter what |

The pain from a saltwater sailcat is easily 10x of a freshwater catfish. Took one to a thumb trying to get it off my hook using pliers beach fishing several years back. Thumb was spray blood everywhere when I got it out. All I had was a couple of paper towels to wrap it in and the worst damn throbbing pain you have ever felt localized to a tiny area. Sat on my hand to apply pressure and drove 80+ mph in my explorer for 40 minutes back to civilization. Called my wife and had her googling for a way to make the pain stop. Got to the inlaws house and she had a pot of hit water ready to go. Submerged my hand (and believe me it was hot), and the pain subsided almost instantly. Cleaned it up - never for infected. But damned if that spot where I got stabbed didn't calcify and hurt to the touch for 2 years before it finally went away. Any saltwater fisherman knew this video was going to turn into a shit show as soon as the video opened and you see a drunk broad slapping a catfish on her friend with a beach in the background.

Man, if I had friends that were stupid enough to willingly swing a hardhead at me like that, i would find better friends.
Actually, i'm not sure which one is dumber, the one swinging the fish, or the one that willingly let it happen. That shit hurts. |
|
I know, if I go over and look really hard at it, it will magically pull itself from her leg......
People are useless these days. If someone falls over and starts spitting up blood, half their friends will laugh hysterically, and the other half will pull out their phones....... |

All salt water rednecks know someone who has actually been through that. It's easy enough to accidentally happen if you fish on the Gulf Coast. But to do it on purpose, that is like playing with a rattlesnake. |

Seen a guy get stuck in the finger by a sail cat last year, guy was doubled over in pain and eventually went to the ER.

Where is the hospital vid? I bet she isn't to happy after that fish fin comes out from what you guys say. I bet she wasn't giggling during the process.

Why the fuck would you do that to an animal anyway, kill it and eat it or let it go :|
Also yeah they stab the shit out of you. Don't use a net to take catfish out of an aquarium/pond either, I usually use a plastic strainer or measuring cup. |

The slime must have worn off from being out of the water. If it wasn't she would have been screaming from the sting.

My buddy caught a sail cat my uncle asked him if he knew how to get it off he tells him ya done it a hundred times. He put his foot long ways on top of it to hold it down before he can even end down with the pliers he's jumping around on one foot with the fish stuck to the bottom of his jordans screaming.
