If instead of Pierce it stared Timothy Dalton.
The movie was tied into the Cold War and its ending which Dalton played the role for during the slow fall of the Soviet Union. Pierce's role went down hill after Goldeneye as Bond turned into a futuristic Bond. |
|
Goldeneye is definitely Brosnan's best bond film.
But I quite liked the Dalton films and wish he'd have had a couple more. |
|
Agreed, Dalton was a great Bond.
Pierce is 1000x better than Craig though. |
|
|
Dalton is for old dudes.
Craig is hands down, bar none, the best Bond to ever do it. |

Tomorrow Never Dies was really his film, pretty good film, the following two were garbage. Too over the top. Now if Goldeneye starred Dalton and then do a refresh with Pierce in the roles that Craig played it would have been good. Craig looks like if Putin was Bond with a stick up his ass. |

I thought this was going to be a thread about Oddjob or Slappers Only.
I am disappoint. |

I always really liked Dalton as Bond. He's likely the most skilled actor of the bunch.
|
|
Brosnan was a good Bond stuck with generally underwhelming movies, although Goldeneye was a notable exception.
Although to be sure I'm not sure I'd consider any of the Bond movies particular good. Fun and enjoyable sure, but some of them are just bad. |

Jesus H. Christ, Timothy Dalton sucked balls as Bond!!! I'd rather watch Roger Moore's 007 take it in the ass by Connery than 5 minutes of Dalton's 007.

couldn't stand Dalton when the movies came out but looking back I don't understand what my problem with him was, Brosnan was awesome as Remington Steele but just never seemed to gel as Bond
Connery is Bond, but Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service may be my favorite Bond film |

Quoted: I always really liked Dalton as Bond. He's likely the most skilled actor of the bunch. View Quote RSC can certainly crank them out. My problem with the last three on the list is they, IMHO, only have one good to great Bond film each. "The Living Daylights," "Goldeneye," "Casino Royale." Everything else---including "Skyfall" and "Licence to Kill"---are solid mehs or could be great, if there wasn't enough Idiot Ball carrying to take me out of my suspension of disbelief, when I know I'm watching a Bond movie. Not that I was expecting "The Usual Suspects" level of plot, or "Blackhawk Down" type realism here. I mean, it's a Bond movie. |

Quoted: Brosnan was awesome as Remington Steele but just never seemed to gel as Bond View Quote Brosnan got fucked by Remington Steele as far as Bond went. By the time he was able to play Bond he was too old. Craig was a manlet compared to Connery, Brosnan, Moore, Lazenby and Dalton. Even Niven was taller than Craig. |

If........N64 was in 1080P.
The real reason many bought that console was for Goldeneye. Just sayin. |

Dalton was the best Bond. Be clearly studied the source material.
Craig was not Bond. Nothing at all like Fleming described. |
|
Goldeneye is the only Pierce movie worth watching.
The Living Daylights is one of my favorite Bond movies, although it’s a bit long. Dalton played a great, brooding Bond who is fed up with the job. But License to Kill was pretty mediocre. |
|
Connery set the bar.
Craig played it more to the books than any other actor. |

Dalton was great. Pierce was ok, although I think all his storylines were over the top and silly.

Brosnan was a good looking guy, he had the look of Bond but I guess the films suffered with no Cold war kind of backing. Dalton was a really good bond. Better than Moore, but kinda got screwed with a shitty first movie and a great second movie. Brosnan was supposed to take over after Moore but Remington Steele kept him out. Not sure why Dalton didn't do more. I'm going to go against GD, but outside of Casino Royal I hated Craig's Bond. The movies just sucked. Connery Is the best. |
