I get no warning when I read the transcript for the declaration of independence.

Quoted: This is not our government. It is an assemblage of lunatics who dwell in a fantasy world distinct from reality. The solution, the only remedy is that which is proscribed in our founding documents. Once again it is our duty to replace a government that has become unaccountable to the governed. We no longer consent. View Quote When I was young, in my teens and 20's I used to think "At some point, people will get tired of all the crime and put an end to this shit." The shit we put up with as a country now, decades later, far surpasses anything I imagined would be "the last straw" back then. |
|
Remember how some people have said they're waiting for a sign?
There you go. It really doesn't get much more clear than that. |
|
So we're going to slap fight over the warning text and where and when it appears while the point that they will need to BALANCE PRESERVATION against people's current perception of words used in history sails on over.
Fucking classic. And if people would stop quoting that one guy I'd never have to know what shit he wrote down today. |
|
I foresee a simple solution being pushed through: Just have a committee of LGBTQ+ Democrats edit the documents and then burn the originals.
And have the internet police (Google, Wikipedia, etc.) ban web sites that post the originals. |
|
Click bait bullshit. The OP edited this statement out of his quotes:
The warning applies to all documents across the Archives’ cataloged website, including the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. In other words, the government didn't list the constitution and DoI as harmful content, the government placed a blanket warning across literally every page in the archives. You'll see the exact same warning on pictures of Biden talking to Obama. OP should feel bad, and anyone who got caught up in the rage should too. |
|
They're just deconstructing the ideology this country was founded on.... How can you " build back better" if there's a successful strategy already in place?
EVERY step they take leads to branding anyone that supports the ideas of the founding fathers as being a white supremist. |
|
Quoted: Man you're a real piece of work. Insulting anyone that doesn't agree with you constantly. Since you couldn't be bothered to ACTUALLY check by clicking the items in your own links.... That is a link that explains that many docs on the site may be offensive. Every document and the splash page have it but the transcript pages posted here show the statement not to be there. It is a generic statement and not pointed to any particular document.

Its amazing to me how the left/deepstate always leave just enough room to argue that they aren’t doing what they are doing, and no matter how irrational and small the likelihood is, there are still those that jump to make the argument on their behalf.
Then the left always end up doing exactly what those people argue that weren’t doing before to the extreme. Its half steps and ultimate |

Quoted: Lots of wtf going on in this country and this is disturbing as shit View Quote What disturbs me the most is that 90% of the people here don't read past the headline and automatically jump to the conclusion that this warning is targeted at The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. All they did was post a blanket warning that there are some documents may offend some snowflakes. People here need to use a little more common sense and apply some critical thinking. |
|
Sure, why not? It's certainly a lot better than some bureaucrat deciding what is or isn't offensive. Quoted: Lets look at a quote from National Archives on the subject: Hmmm what could they possibly be talking about? What document do they talk about all the time as being as "outdated" and needing changing because it should be "fluid"? "Violent views and Opinions" sounds like the Declaration of Independence and all the speeches of the Revolutionary time period found in these very archives. They might be talking about documents like Memorandum of a conversation between President John F. Kennedy and Alabama Governor George Wallace, 18 May 1963. |

HARMFUL CONTENT my ass.
Someone quoted Orwell a few posts back. Orson Welles did a movie based on a Kafka book called "The Trial" in 1962. Poor Tony Perkins played a person harassed by unnamed Govt agents, indicted and tried for no good reason. So much bureaucracy no one knew what government was gaslighting poor Tony. I watch that movie again and see NBC, CNN of today. I'd gladly do time for committing the crime of spreading HARMFUL CONTENT. |

I've never experienced that in my 3 years here. [In case your stoned, check my state. its bottom right under avatar] Being that a "personal attack" is a coc violation, and claiming that you get them daily "just for living in california", your not just calling out other members for doing something they didn't do, your calling out mods for not enforcing the coc. Gota say, that's a mighty deep hole you're digging there in search of sympathy for victimization that doesn't exist. And to add, don't move up north. That game don't fly here. |

And all three groups are equally angry over the topic for very different reasons with more than enough time, more than enough consequences, while having the same access to the truth to decided were they stand, but have of free will made their choice of where they stand, at a point where the consequences of their choices are permanent to not just themselves, but others, and to our country. Fuck the left. Fuck the fence sitters. Fuck the controlled opposition like hanity who is trying to lead people to believe biden is to senile to have committed treason. 1. I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
2-5 are unnecessary if rule 1 is followed 6. I will never forget that I am an American fighting for freedom, responsible for my action, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America I swore an Oath to The Constitution of The United States of America. Not to the person in office. |

Those warnings don't have to be directly linked to the founding documents to be damnable. The fact that they are there at all speaks to the pussification of this country's government. In fact, we should display them loud and proud, in defiance of any that would take issue with them, just as we did we they were first penned.

The commies that run the federal government hate the country and the citizens.

The left will always win. America is in a race to the bottom at this point. The southern states will be South Africa in 20 years time and the rest of the states will fund it all like in the hunger games.

They plan to destroy everything. And I believe this story of their actions is exactly what is claimed. I don’t think this is “clickbait” or “fake news”. I believe it is important. Despite what has been said, i look at it from all sides and I am meticulous in studying the surrounding facts/data. |

The more proles they can convince that the founding documents of our nation are icky, racist and just overall not very nice works out to the favor of those in power. They can probably convince them that they need to be thrown out and replaced....

If you want to be taken seriously and treated with respect, then you should treat people the same way. It's that simple. |

Quoted: As much as I enjoy hating on the other guy, the headline is sensational BS. The harmful content warning is a generic statement on the searchable database that some documents may contain offensive things. It's a "you can search, but your feelings might get hurt" statement. The statement literally appears on anything you search for, Constitution, MLK, Malcom X, Pope John Paul, The name Missouri, everything. View Quote I wouldn't categorize the larger effort as BS; the National Archives is in the middle of a pretty damn big project right now to woke-ify catalog descriptions, captions, etc, and it's kind of a big deal. That aside, have you stopped for a moment to consider that nitpicking doesn't help? Our opponents' entire ideology is built around the ideas that objective reality doesn't exist and that everyone else should be subordinate for no other reason than we're not them. Nobody is being harmed by a loss of credibility; it's irrelevant. |
|
Quoted: I did a search for the Constitution and got a Harmful Language Alert The story is correct. I am sure somebody can put up a screenshot. ETA.
