Quoted: I swore I’d never get a white vehicle, however, I really like the Lexus Starfire Pearl. https://nextcloud.fstech.ltd/s/pcxk56jDaa3pc8E/preview View Quote I was NO fan of white cars. I bought a low mileage 2019 Lincoln Nautilus a year ago in White Diamond. New Land Rover trade, and the dealer wanted to move it. I've received more comments in the past year on how good it looks than anything else I've driven in decades. Didn't expect that. |

Quoted: Ok, I agree on silver. It sucks although I bought it for the body and mods already done to support a turbo build, not the color. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/395225/20220213_125613-2380318.jpg View Quote I didn't buy mine for the color but it grew on me. So many cars come in 5 shades of grey with metrosexual names like onyx and steel lustre. Then they will have one red / grey mix called sunset or equally gay name.

I just bought a silver honda. I wanted black (my escalades are black). I feel as though it just blends in traffic and is blah. But then again it's better than being white like EVERY new car out there.
|
|
Fuck that, OP.
Both my cars are silver, by choice. Colored cars are stupid. But you got ahead and enjoy your red, blue, green, yellow, etc. car. It's a free country (for now). |
|
Up here in snow country black, white, or brightly colored cars look like crap 5 minutes after you wash them because of road salt and dirt road dust.
Gray doesn't look nearly as dirty as quickly. The only better color would be one that is the same as road salt lol. My current car is a pretty royal blue, and I love it even though it looks dirty most of the time. |

I bought it used, or I would've gotten a color. Hard to get the used car you want in a color when every other one is grey/black/white.

All depends on the car style and decade. Some cars look best in black or blue, purple, yellow, lime, two-tones, etc. Some with light pin stripping, some with heavy and some with none. Lots of chrome or minimal. Mags, hub caps or just rims. I'd have to see the actual car to make a decision on color. My current set of wheels is a gun metal grey with an all black interior. I looked at all the color options and decided on that. It's sitting next to a blue pearl streak Avenger. Up until a few years ago they'd also be a candy apple red and cream two tone 58 Ford custom 300 Fairlane and a cream 64 Fury III.

Silver is awesome in a hot climate. I hate my black car in South Texas. It’s pretty when clean, which is for approximately 46 minutes after I wash it.

I hate constantly having to detail my vehicles. I don't know what the GX color is officially called but my e46 ZHP is "silbergrau" lol....silver gray

Quoted: Gonna paint my 66 mustang some silver or grey. Trying to find the right color with a hint towards green or blue to make the chrome pop. Fucking hate red but when a complete car presents itself for 4500 bucks you buy it even if it was a rainbow flag... Had a 05 in Silver. Want to replace it with a black 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca. But it was nice, 95 in white, 05 in silver, 15 in black. A grey scale seperated by 10 years between models. I dont want the Elanor shade, mainly because I hate that trademarked car and do not want people bringing up that name in comparison. But there are some gun metal metalics out there that I want to have speed shapes done to see what might work. Hopd will stay black or even maybe get a matte black wrap to reduce reflections. https://i.imgur.com/9WEKd2q.jpg View Quote |

I purposely only buy new white vehicles. 2 of my 3 vehicles are white. The first thing I did the day I brought my new white Ranger home was pull the FX stickers off the bed. I prefer grey vehicles, they are a good all around balance. White vehicles are for girls, black cars are a nightmare to keep clean and when it comes to heat. I dislike red, not a fan of blue, no way I would drive something yellow.

All three of my vehicles are silver: Porsche, Tacoma and Volvo s60. I've had red, green, blue, black, white beige, gold cars/trucks. In fact, every pickup truck I've owned until now was white.
I like that these cars blend in, especially the 911. My red Corvette and RX-7 were both cop magnets. |

I like it for its utilitarian use. Hides dirt and scratches well.

Quoted: My wife and I both love metallic silver and gray vehicles. Come to think of it the last 6 out of 7 vehicles have all been metallic silver or gray. legitimate reasoning either way. grey/silver/low key tones are better for blending in and not making a spectacle. OTOH, cars with bold colors are very visible to other drivers for safety purposes. and then there's the 'i like what i like' factor.
finally, DK makes a good point: if you buy an opulent car and don't paint it an opulent color, you're taking yourself way too seriously. ETA: disclosure, i drive a silver pickup. |

I bought four consecutive metallic space grey BMWs. Beautiful color, very deep and rich. This was the first.
Attached File But I've never been hard over...wife's Miata was blue, my 640i was white (and also beautiful), the F-250D was ruby red, and that was a spectacular color. Some vehicles just need color. My favorite is forest green, but vehicle manufacturers seem really reluctant to do it. I've owned one...a Tacoma Attached File Went back to a deep metallic blue for the Z... Attached File Looking at an X5 right now, but the current BMW colors are genuinely weird. Lots are flooded with black, and white X5s. The grey might as well be black, and "Manhattan Green" is almost grey and kind of sickly. I guess it's going to be Metallic Phytonic Blue, which isn't age appropriate but kind of pretty. But....one day this will be mine. Some combinations are just classic. Attached File |

My AWD sedan is very common, dark silver, and a sleeper.
Everyone ignores it and I like it that way, especially when I'm breaking traffic codes. |

Meh. I didn't really pick the colors as a choice they just came that way. My truck is silver/black, my camper is silver and black, my mountain bike is silver and black. Looks amazing driving down the road regardless of what OP says.
