fiona apple I haven't heard of most of these people. Her I have heard of, but I don't know of any career ending incident. ??? IIRC she won an award on one of the awards shows. In her speech she went on to say how it's all bullshit. Being a celebrity, the awards show itself, and I think the award. She may have even trashed the fans. Might hurt her rep in the industry, but from what I've seen most people who love music hate the music industry so I don't know how much that'd hurt her overall. Her career tanked after her speech. I would say it ruined her career. I don't remember what show but they interviewed her a couple years ago and she regretted saying what she said. Her next album in 1999 still sold 1m copies, and her 2005 one sold 600k. |

Someone thought he would be a winning candidate. No, he was a tool whom thought the rules did not apply to him.....and he had according to various rumors shit hammered the careers of subordinates for far less egregious sins. So in a word, screw him, he got off easy. |

Who was the actor on a cop show who "got too big for his britches" and demanded MUCH more $$ than the show would pay him so he walked, vowing to be a huge movie star instead. Virtually nothing since. Red haired guy, I think his partner on the show was a black guy--Hill Street Blues maybe? Seems like his first name was David--maybe David Caruso? It's been a while. Edit: Googled, yeah that's him, but it was "NYPD Blue." He has done some stuff since, but nothing big. Pretty sure George Eads of CSI fame did the same thing. I think he made one movie then had to go back to CSI. Caruso has been on one of those CSI Special Bullshit Squad shows for years. Hes the star so gets good money, I'm sure. I'm sure hes made more off of those than anything he could have made on NYPD Blue. True, but he sucked wind for a LONG time after he tried to play the game with NYPDB |

Me too. View Quote Robin Williams was in some financial troubles due to all his spending and several divorces...nothing that three films and some commercials could not fix. He was supposedly in the EARLY STAGES of Parkinsons, however the autopsy showed degenerative neural conditions linked to Parkinsons that are associated with paranoia and hallucinations. He was probably not in his right mind at the time he offed himself, likely he was having in a paranoid or hallucinatory state of some kind. |

R Budd Dwyer also comes to mind... View Quote Turns out he was framed. Conviction largely based on perjured testimony in return for a reduced sentence. Dude may very well have been completely innocent. He killed himself (apparently) so that his family would get his pension, since he "died in office". Now, Randy "Duke" Cunningham, on the other hand .... |

Didn't Chappelle just quit because he didn't like the pressure, and wanted to go live like a king with his tens or hundreds of millions of dollars? He quit because he didn't like white people enjoying his humor. Apparently, he caught some flack form his wife for walking away from 35 - 70 million. He was also paranoid and crazy, possibly from drug use? Katt Williams seems to be hopping down the same bunny trail.... |

Those younger political people will remember back in the day, EVERY story on this or that had quotes from her, she was on tv/radio every second with her analysis of this or that. You could turn on or listen to anything political without hearing Doris Kearns Goodwin's thoughts on it. Then it came out she plagarized lots 'o stuff for her books. I haven't heard shit from her going on 10+ years now. Steven Ambrose, but he was already dead when it came out that he had plagerized extensively. I think it was his transcontinental RR book.
