I just saw an advertisement that there are 40 new Hallmark movies out for this season. Yay!??
And as far as "Perfectly decorated houses", my wife makes our house look like Christmas threw up in every room, every square inch and then some. It already started with the fall decorations and all the plug in scents every where. I came home yesterday and when I got out of my car I could smell the apple cinnamon plug in all the way outside and down in the driveway. She didn't believe me and said she could barely smell it in the house. I'm stating to think she's the reason for my fall allergies. |

Small town girl (usually a designer, wedding planner, decorator), meets old flame who's moved back to town. Resists temptation to rekindle old romance entire movie. However, old flame does something to help pull off the big event that would've ended in disaster. Love is found and they begin their fairy tale again...I think this is the plot of EVERY Hallmark movie.

You know you can change the channel, right?

How can you not like movies that star both Autumn Reeser and DJ Tanner
|
|
Plot is always the same...meet...get to know each other...misunderstanding about 3/4 way thru....get back together.

The wife likes them, cause they are cheesy and sweet. I'm ok with that, "I'll be in the garage".

And, everyone is rich living in either huge houses or pristine cottages on huge ranches. Regardless of the home, the furnishings probably equal the value of the house. Lord only knows how much Hallmark has cost me in new furniture.

I can forgive all the cliches and repetition, I just can't deal with the awful acting

i admit i enjoy hallmark movies, after returning from Iraq i watched them nonstop trying to reset my emotions, because i basically had none.
|
|
My wife watches them....the hot chicks make them slightly bearable.
I like the one where the career focused woman finds love and the true meaning of Xmas...then decides to put family first.....ohh wait that’s 75% of them. |

Hallmark Christmas movies are a bastion of white privilege.
A month of them could turn Santa Clause into Ebenezer Scrooge. |
|
A couple of years ago, I put a parental lock on the cable box for the hallmark channel. It got to be too much. Not just the christmas movies, but all year long. She also has the tendency to rewatch the same movies over and over.

The whiteosity done sikatated me and I ain't talkin about the snoe.

I love them. And I am not ashamed to watch them with my kids, contrary to some of the other things on television.
Oh and I own some XD's which I found out earlier makes me gay |
|
The beauty of them is they are all the same. They are the only movies that I don't have to explain to my wife what is happening.
Funny though how everyone in them looks like a model drives a new car and lives in a million dollar house all on a waitress salary. |
|
|
I really enjoy them....clean, wholesome, predictable, and always a positive message.
I start watching in July and continue to watch through Christmas. |

Cute little sappy MasterCard/BMW/Ulta Cosmetics commercial! |

Career minded woman with career minded boyfriend.
Career minded woman has to go to small town for business assignment. Career minded woman meets local Christmas tree farmer, rancher, singer, lonely widowed single dad with cute kid. Through a series of mishaps the career minded woman realizes she no longer loves the career minded boyfriend and falls in love with local Christmas tree farmer, rancher, singer, lonely widowed single dad with cute kid. With about 10 minutes to go in the movie, career minded boyfriend shows up and there is a dilemma. Career minded woman must choose, but the local Christmas tree farmer, rancher, singer, lonely widowed single dad with cute kid is hurt and rejects her. Career minded woman dumps career minded boyfriend, which he is oddly ok with and there is no fighting, yelling, drama, screaming, stalking, or restraining orders issued. Career minded woman and local Christmas tree farmer, rancher, singer, lonely widowed single dad with cute kid get back together and share first kiss of true love - the end. TLDR- Cheating girlfriend goes off for work, meets guy and dumps boyfriend for the guy she just met at Christmas. |

Hallmark, a Liberal company that rips off people with over priced get well cards.

So what would a Hallmark movie be like if it were for a male audience? Assuming it stayed wholesome, etc like current Hallmark movies.

How about the one where the woman has to decide between her big city fiancee who doesn't care about Christmas so much, and the small town guy with a small construction company, that happens to really love Christmas?
My wife watches these non fucking stop. She doesn't make me watch them, so I'm fine with it. |

They are positive. There's nothing wrong with positive, family oriented programming.
