Quig made his choice, and he knew exactly what he was doing.  

He had a long list of warnings for trolling/attacking that specific member.  He had been told to stop (after multiple account warnings).  He then changed his sig line to troll that member.  He was told to stop.  He then changed his avatar to troll that member.  As a result, he was locked, and was told that ANY more trolling of that kind would result in his permanent ban.

Apparently, while he was locked he has a hat custom made to troll the other member, and makes sure to include it in a dinner pic after he came back from his ban - which is precisely the kind of thing he was explicitly told would get him banned.  I guess he thought he was being clever, just like he presumably thought he was being clever to use his sig line and avatar.  

He could have stopped at any time.  He could have stopped after the first warning.  He could have stopped after the second warning.  He could have stopped after he was told to stop using his sig line.  He would have stopped after he was locked for using his avatar.  At every step of the way, he could just have stopped - but he made the deliberate choice to keep going, every time.

All he needed to do was ignore the guy, and everyone could have enjoyed his threads about BBQ and everything else - but he insisted on getting himself banned over some dumb internet dispute, by continuing to do the exact thing he had told would get him banned."
