I married into that family. My father in law was a Korea vet, Drill instructor, crew chief or whatever of Marilyn Monroe's helicopter, commercial pilot, ski instructor, photographer, civil engineer, land owner, gardener, farmer, rancher, investor in wind energy and petroleum, taught/ tutored math at college, helped a woman escape East Germany and lots more and considered himself a slacker.

I admittedly know nothing about the man you highlighted OP

BTW, he's an astronaut now too.  His mom is still disappointed that he doesn't work hard enough.

When it comes to the founding fathers, I would probably put Ben Franklin at the top of the list.

Jocko Podcast 221: Jonny Kim. Navy SEAL, Doctor, Astronaut. The Unimaginable Path.

This is from his Bio on NASA's website:

"LCDR Kim enlisted in the Navy as a Seaman recruit after graduating high school in 2002.  After completion of Hospital Corpsman “A” school training, he reported to Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in Coronado, CA.  After completing his training at Naval Special Warfare, Kim reported to John F.
