Second, I was at a Rush concert a few years ago and they did "Grand Designs". I don't know why, but it really was the song I enjoyed the most in the show.  |

I saw Social Distortion for the 8th time a couple years back. They closed with an acoustic rockabilly sounding version of Reach For the Sky that was fucking incredible.

Yes, Full Circle tour at The Back Yard Austin, TX.
Anderson, Howe, Squire, Wakeman, White. They played Close to the Edge, and it was the best rendition I had ever heard of that song. Must have gotten some pollen in my eyes. |

Charlie Daniels doing the Legend of Wooly Swamp. This was at a small outdoor concert just as the sun had set good. And the field we were in was surrounded by woods. It really added to the atmosphere.

Pearl Jam at Red Rocks. In the middle of Rearview Mirror, Eddy stops the song to chew out a couple guys fighting in the front few rows. He berates them, tells the crowd "Sorry, there are a couple of knuckelheads up here", looks over his shoulder "1...2...3...I couldn't breathe...." and right back into the song where they left off, and the band picked it up perfectly. Never have I seen that happen at a show.

Metallica, 2004 in Austin, "Sad But True"; it was just an absolutely awesome performance of the song that worked. I have never heard it played that well since. "One" was also a highlight of that show.

Alter Bridge, last October.
Myles played an acoustic version of Watch Over You that lead into another tune I can't remember because I was overwhelmed with memories of my father in law who died a couple months earlier after a months long bout with cancer. I've seen a modest number of other amazing shows but none got me like that. |

Day on the Green at Oakland Coliseum, 1978. Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, and Ted Nugent. Lights (in the City) by Journey blew me away even though I was there for the harder bands.

Jellyfish in 1991. They did "No Matter What" by Badfinger and completely blew me away!

Eric Clapton in 2006. It was the 3rd time I saw him in concert. He played "Got To Get Better in a Little While" and it was fucking awesome. Saw him a few years ago when he toured with Steve Winwood, and they did Hendrix's "Voodoo Child." (Not VC Slight Return.)
The Who back in May. "Eminence Front." FUCK YEAH. Someone else at the show got it on video: Billy Joel last year. "Vienna" and "Zanzibar." |

I didn't expect to find another fan here! Heck, I'm surprised to find anyone who has even heard of them!! Jellyfish was actually my first concert and I've only been to maybe a dozen since but they set the bar high. I've never seen a live concert video of Jellyfish that even comes close to actually being there. I count myself fortunate to have seen the first incarnation of the band when Jason and Chris were still members. I never really warmed up to the second incarnation's line-up. Have you checked out Beatnik Beatch (Andy and Rodger's band before Jellyfish) and Imperial Drag (Roger and Eric's band after Jellyfish). I'm one of the few lucky people in the world who actually owns the Jellyfish box set. |

AC/DC - Dokken in Frankfurt. What song? No idea, was too busy keeping the 16-17 year old girl from jumping off the balcony to go get to the stage...man she was fucked up on something. The three guys that were with me kept other folks from handing her more crap to take. Good concert, though. AC/DC was doing the For Those About to Rock stuff...
Monsters of Rock 88 was not long after (Schweinfurt). Good times, trading GI made Long Island Ice Tea for bong hits.  Well, some of the guys, any ways. Captain lined us up when we got back..shook his head, and told us to get some sleep before he changed his mind.
For Monsters? Well, Iron Maiden did a full concert after all the others did their 2-5 song bits. So...
