I hate to ask for help, but I find myself in a situation where my family could really use some assistance, as hard as it is to admit. My 9 year old daughter Cal has two malignant brain tumors and recently started receiving Chemo after brain surgery could not fully remove the tumors and targeted therapy failed. We'll be doing a lot of traveling for tests and treatments and my wife is having to drop to a part time position to allow Cal to get the medical treatment she needs. If you would feel so inclined to help, we would appreciate your generosity. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this challenging situation.
Donation Link Attached File Attached File Backstory: In late 2022, Cal started having some odd things happening: random vomiting, migraines, slurred speech, etc. We took her to the family doctor who referred us to a neurology specialist. The neurologist didn't think there was anything wrong, but sent her for an MRI, just to be sure. We had the MRI in January, and received a call shortly thereafter with the shocking news that she had masses in her brain that are causing extreme pressure levels. We were sent immediately to a hospital with pediatric neurosurgery for emergency brain surgery. They were able to relieve the pressure and remove some of the masses, but a large portion was inoperable due to the location. The surgeon took samples for testing, and sent them to St. Jude for analysis. This came back as a cancer called Astrocytoma, much to our dismay. Cal's tumors have a specific genetic mutation that allows them to be targeted by some newer cancer therapy drugs, so we started a pill based targeted treatment in March. After several months of this treatment, she had to stop because the side effects were becoming too significant to continue, even though it was effectively shrinking the tumors. That brings us to the present, where she has a chemo IV port installed and has started chemo infusions. They expect this to be weekly outpatient treatment for a year. She has a relatively good prognosis, likely to be able to achieve remission, but they also said this type of cancer tends to be chronic in younger patients, so it could be a many year fight with relapse somewhat likely. Cal likes shooting and hunting with dad. She recently was able to harvest a 7x7 bull elk thanks to the generosity of Hunt of a Lifetime foundation for children with serious illness. You probably don't know too many other 9yr old girls who shoot 7.62 LR308 for fun, but then again, this is ARFCOM. Attached File Donation Link Fundraiser request approved by WILSON |

Brother, I’ve hit it and I’m sorry.
Your beautiful daughter looks like my middle daughter and I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. May you find the treatment that beats this, may the doctors be guided, and may your family have strength and peace. God Bless you all. |
