For about the same price you can get a Taiwanese Milwaukee. They also have Crescent and Husky. Guess we're those are hecho?

I've had very good luck with Estwing. They make pretty much the Cadillac of slag hammers imo.

Both Vaughan and Estwing are great hammers but pricey. Last I heard Vaughan always still made in the USbut not sure about Estwing.

Last I checked Farm & Fleet sells Estwing hammers. Not sure if they're in IN, but they're in WI, IL, & IA for sure.

I use an Estwing engineers hammer everyday .
Best one I’ve used. Hell I can’t even buy those when Home Depot sold estwing , had to order from an online dealer |

Stiletto master race checking in.
Got one as a gift, I use it 4 or 5 times a year |

Estwing makes some great tools. I have a framing hammer that I still use regularly and its going on 40 years old.

I used to love Estwings. I have had every hammer and are they make, and every single one has been stolen. At least a dozen framing hammers alone.
Now I use the modern new Dewalt lightweight hammers and they are twice as good. And not one was stolen in the last 9 years. |

Yet another reason to not shop at that building material junk bazaar.

I'll smash, cut and slice the heck out of most rock, brick and block with my Estwing.
Great hammer and never broken in over 40 years. Is this a shitpost thread on hammers lol. |

This reminds of when Lowes stopped selling Stanley tape measures. The clerk said the Craftsman and Dewalt tape measures were just as good. I was nice enough to inform them that they were wrong about that.

Stanley stopped making good tape measures in 2008 when they converted them to plastic. Thin, brittle plastic at that. Milwaukee makes a much better tape measure. |

Quoted: Home Depot dropping a brand? Never been dun befo. View Quote They had good clearances when they dropped Ego battery tools. Picked up their 18" chainsaw for cheap. Used it for a couple year for either saw stuff or its battery to help out my leaf blower. I gave the saw to my father who is getting a bit too old to be yanking on a starter cord. |

Quoted: HD is the top tier harbor freight CHICOM imported junk. They are slowly getting rid of any made in USA goods. And the target audience that shops at HD’s do not care. View Quote They have started going downhill. That said they are still a LOT better than Lowe's. And Lowe's is light-years ahead of Menards. |

Started framing homes in HS and continued all the way through college-night school all the way. Estwing or Vaughan for me.

I just read a few discussions elsewhere that TTI and SBD were pressing HD to push them off the shelves. looks like they succeeded. bastards

I've never seen an Estwing in HD around here. Central Alabama. Always had to go to Lowe's.
