In the British army, a "chit" or "chitty" was a word derived from the Hindi chitthi, meaning note or letter, which comes from the Sanskrit chitra (“spot”, “mark”) and was a permission slip, a "chitty", to leave the barracks and visit the local brothels. The "bang bang" is pretty self-explanatory. |

Quoted: @BigFatDog Don’t be sad. It’s a broadspeed jag ( or replica look alike) not moded for the sake of it by some kid they raced them in the 70’s John steed liked them too, it was his car in a latter season of the avengers. It was for sale not long ago cheap as chips. Annoyingly nowhere to put it. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/398238/IMG_5802_jpeg-2975660.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/398238/IMG_5806_jpeg-2975675.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/398238/IMG_5805_jpeg-2975670.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/398238/IMG_5803_jpeg-2975661.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/398238/IMG_5804_jpeg-2975666.JPG Basically a race car ( at least in looks) on the road and it’s cool as hell imo although not sure if it was the full deal or just a replica but that was the idea. View Quote @Pesty Thanks a lot for posting this. I assumed it was some 80s “broken kitty (aka American muscle transplant)” trailer park made for the show build. I don’t know how I possibly missed the existence of this vehicle my entire life. I love that series. I will begin my penance by dusting off my DVDs and watching the series from beginning to end. Although not all at once. I promise to do my best to ignore Miss Peel and focus only on the vehicles. Enzo Ferrari considered the XJ to be one of the most beautiful car designs. I agree, but I’m nobody and my opinion is worth nothing. I don’t want another “picnic” car in my barn, so the XJ has been off my list for a while. I feel the need an XJ Coupe though. Although it will likely be sans fender flares. ETA: I know the problem now. That car was in The NEW Avengers mid 70s reboot. |
