By the time it is brought up to US standards for emissions, 5 MPH bumpers, airbags, etc... it will be close to a real car in cost. Look what they did to the smart car.
The dude that got his Ferrari stuck in an alley could have used one though. |

I got to see a cut away smart car that showed all the metal added to make it meet US crash standards. IIRC they had to add 800 lbs of steel to it, which the guy said almost doubled the weight of the of the "frame". |

Had to do an Austin Powers 18-point turn in one spot. My travelling partner got his Audi A4 stuck there, and we actually had to recruit some local guys to help pick the back end up and slew it around a few feet. Those little cars are perfect for the people who live in those places and just need to do their normal errands. |
