Christians have faith in heaven. Even atheist have faith in something. May not be life after death, heaven ect...but they have faith in that when you die that's it. But one thing is for certain. We all will find out one day. I believe there is life after death.
Some believe we are not alone in this universe even though having never seen it. Is that a form of faith. I mean you can't prove it. Some believe in good and bad luck. Some believe in good or evil. We all believe in many things. It does not make us enemies or what ever. I believe we should respect the beliefs of others. Except commies and socialists. They are just plain evil. |

Because you get to choose what you believe. You can choose to believe there is no god and no afterlife. It’s all meaningless and empty in which case nothing matters. Literally meaningless. You can choose to believe there is a god and an afterlife. If you choose this, the Bible becomes meaningful and clear. It comes alive. You read and understand things atheists simply cannot grasp. God’s word becomes true in your heart. You KNOW it. You can know you’re going to heaven because of God’s promises. It really is this simple. If you ask Jesus into your heart and believe God raised Him from the dead and confess with your words that He is Lord, you will be saved. And you will KNOW!
It’s not that millions of people are weak and need a sky daddy to shield them, it’s that people have read his word and asked Him into their hearts! They know they are saved and going to heaven! People will attack you out of their own frustration at you because they can’t understand how you can believe something they can’t understand. The Bible actually says “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” |

I only read page one and its everything I thought it would be.
False teachers and the fact that Satan's children are obvious are the first things to watch out for. The word is the word forget the denomination. Get into the Bible and read it for yourself. For starters you'll find you need to confess to the Lord that you accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Kill your old self and become new. This happens through immersion baptism. This is not just a "process", you have to truly believe. Once you've started anew the goal is to live Christ like in your day to day. You are also supposed to be witnessing to other folks and share the joy that saved you. This is something that a lot of folks look over but we WILL be judged by our works. Ideally folks should see Christ in you by the way you carry yourself day to day. We are all sinners and even after accepting Christ will continue to be sinners. Thats not an excuse to sin, but rather a reason to TRY to be more Christ-like. |

My point was that you were saying if you accept the concept of god and the afterlife that the Bible will become meaningful and clear. I was pointing out that accepting those two things can make a lot of different religions be meaningful. There'd have to be something greater than that to lead you to Christianity. I'd think the main line of thought that would lead a person to Christianity is the acknowledgement of the corruptibility of humanity and a desire to rise above that along with the realization of the impossibility of doing that without divine help. That's probably the one thing that separates Christianity from other major religions. |

I think this is appropriate for this thread. Hopefully some folks will listen to it all the way through.

All that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Jesus lived the life we should have, died a thief's death in our place, and rose again now seated at the Father's right hand. Come all who are weary...and find rest. |

Quoted: It's honestly really simple. 1) believe in Jesus Christ. 2) follow his teachings. Both are stupid simple. Even 'I' can do them. I fall short of following his teachings a lot. But I ask his forgiveness and make an effort to do better. As to past sins? Pfft! Easy peasy. Genuinely ask forgiveness for them and once you do? They literally vanish from Gods scoreboard. Washed clean. There's exactly ONE sin and only one sin that can't be forgiven. That one sin? It's the sin of not believing in the Lord. Not kidding. A pretty good step to start is find a ministry and just show up. There's all kinds and the first dozen or so may not grab you. There's one for sure that will strike a resonance with you. Stay there for awhile and when it stops feeding your needs, find another. I said ministry rather than church because there's a bunch of each out there and ministry's seem to be a little less formalized. I go to both. Seriously just walk in the door a little before a service starts and people will be happy to see you. Everywhere I've been there wasn't a dress code, seen people in pretty nasty clothes and others beside them in nice suits. The ministry I'm currently occasionally visiting often has people who choose to share their past and describe just what they went thru before they found Christ. Not in a 'look at poor me' way but to show no matter how bad you've been, someone's sinned worse and been redeemed. As above, shoot me an IM if you prefer. View Quote The first temptation in the Bible was to understand everything. But humans aren't capable of that. The Bible says not to worry about heaven, or tomorrow. We don't know God's plans. You and I may croak, starve, or die tomorrow. Try to be a good person, and put your FAITH in God. - "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?" |

The dude nailed to a cross next to Jesus was a thief. Being executed for crimes. He never went to church. He never gave money. He never even did anything “good” that we know of.
That guy is in heaven because he recognized that Jesus was who he said he was and asked him to have mercy on him. Moments later he was in heaven. That story explains how simple it is and how complicated religion has made it. |

Quoted: There's no such place as Purgatory View Quote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purgatory Purgatory (Latin: purgatorium, borrowed into English via Anglo-Norman and Old French)[1] is, according to the belief of some Christian denominations, an intermediate state after physical death for expiatory purification.[2] The process of purgatory is the final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned.[3] Tradition, by reference to certain texts of scripture, sees the process as involving a cleansing fire. Some forms of Western Christianity, particularly within Protestantism, deny its existence. Other strands of Western Christianity see purgatory[4] as a place, perhaps filled with fire. Some concepts of Gehenna in Judaism resemble those of purgatory. |

Atheist Overdoses; Shown Soul's Process Of Pre-Life Planning (NDE) I've been watching a ton of NDE videos and so far there's no theme as to who seems to almost get to "heaven". Even people who commit suicide don't seem to go to hell (although some people are shown hell). Our religions are just constructs to help guide, they aren't rule books. But after hearing these stories I have zero fear of death. |

Nobody is perfect. We have all sinned. You know in your heart you have committed sins in the past. Jesus is was and always will be without sin. He took all the sins ever committed past and future upon Himself to defeat death and open a way for us to live forever with him in paradise. You have to believe in your heart and have faith that we will be with Him. If you don't make the choice on earth while you have the free will to choose He will not recognize you as one of His flock before God. But you will kneel and recognize that He is truly the Son of God. It will be too late then and you will be cast out of Heaven into eternity of torture.
Besides the Bible there are some other good books to read. Even a few movies that slipped onto screens. After you receive Christ the Bible will have more relevance. http://thecaseforchristmovie.com/ The author tried to disprove the Bible and couldn't and became a Christian after writing the book. I have seen a little of this world and I can say for certain there have been times in my life that it could have ended very easily if God had not intervened. Please read and watch the movie and even pray for wisdom to choose the right. God wins in the end though the devil puts up a good fight and deceives millions to join him in hell. |

Christianity disagrees with that. They insist that believing in the right things matters more than what you do. Then tell you that there is nothing you can do that is good enough. Look at it like this....
You have sinned. God cannot allow sin to go unpunished. It's on you, BUT Jesus has offered to pay for your sin debt. This is a contract He has drawn up. He has already signed it with His own blood. The only thing to finish this and make it a binding document (That God Himself will accept!) is for YOU to sign it. If you don't, then Jesus' payment for you does nothing for you. And YOU will have to pay your own debt. It wouldn't be so sad if forever wasn't such a long time. It's by grace through faith that you are saved. |
