Let's say it's a life or death reason, like a kidnapping of a family member (one that you care for, not an ex-wife)
It's 2pm local time, on a Thursday, so the banks are still open It must be in the form of US currency - literally cash in hand The rules: You must obtain the money legally You can borrow from friends or family, with OR without the need to pay it back You can sell whatever you own You CANNOT touch retirement accounts like a 401K, IRA and the like poll inbound |

2 days at the most , maybe a day and half until it's currency in my hand.

Is this the third thread about seeing how much money random internet forum readers admit to having in a week?

I could take a massive loss on my house but get cash within 24 hours.

Being a Zimbabwean trillionaire, I can cash in on my $500 billion note and have change to spare.
|
|
Even if I had the cash in my checking account most banks don't have much cash and would need 24 hours to order it........

I got that in my checking account so all I would have to do is write a check. Buncha poor people in here

In the time it takes to drive to the bank and see the branch manager, because the teller ain't giving up $100K.

Why exclude retirement accounts? While I could get the money from my family, I'm more likely to borrow it from myself.

This. I could have a check in 5 minutes, cash is a little harder simply because smaller bank branches don't keep enough cash on hand to give it to one customer. I had to give them notice that I wanted $40,000 in cash. I was treated with suspicion, when in fact all we were doing was buying an airplane. View Quote |

It seems your scenario is flawed. If it were a life or death scenario, the I am not putting retirement account 'off limits'.
However, I understand that this is a GD fantasy, so Ill just play along and vote accordingly. |

They keep raising the amount. I guess 500 and 5000 wasn't impressive enough View Quote The $50,000 thread another member started got frozen as a parody of my $5,000 thread. |

I generally try to keep at least that much in the wall safe for impulse buys.

Sell off all the financial info that people have been data mining here lately

If I sold my house, both cars, motorcycle, and boat, I could maybe come up with half of that.

Lol if that's the price I better give up on trying to obtain the money legally and arm up and go try and rescue.
Ambush at the cash drop with some close friends is my plan |

In a hour, it helps having a couple millionaire relatives who love me

Company loan against my stock.
Or family. Bank check within an hour assuming it's during working hours. Or an eft would clear whenever banks update. |

I have some rental properties and we flip a house every once in a while with my brother so we have a large line of credit available from a bank. The rub is getting it in cash, i almost want to hazard a guess that it would be near impossible to do so. Even getting a few g's out you have to explain yourself.

Safe? My vault is reserved for large amounts of cash. I could find $100k in my couch cushions. Go be poor somewhere else. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

How many bank branches do you think have $100k in cash on hand. And to the guys saying they would sell their house how many buyers show up with suitcases full of cash?
