I really should finish the wiring in my place.

Problem is I don't have anything that outruns my wi-fi, so I haven't really had the need.  Good luck!

It's a lot of fun bringing Cat 6 cable into a room with a 10 foot ceiling and only 6 foot ladders

You're paying a lot for that Snap AV wire. Are you 100% retrofitting the house or is wiring already in place? Are you wiring for WAPs while you are pulling wire?

That is CAT6e. Were you meaning CAT6A?

And there is nothing that what he is putting in that wire will not handle in a residential atmosphere.

Fishing sticks & attic crawling. It’s like dèja vü all over again.

Is OP doing all of this by himself?...

It's only money. You make some, you lose some. It is what it is.

100% retrofitting, BTW. There be cameras, APs, and all kinds of shit.

Idk. 6 is good for 10gig to 37 meters and even beyond.

I did a small site completely 6a and after I was done I realized it was a dumb idea.  All the runs were less than 37 meters. 6a is a HUGE pain in the ass to install vs 6. The bend radius is so large because of the big puffy jacket, even ignoring the specs, it's huge.

ETA My post was in response to the guy suggesting cat 6e or cat 7. I should have quoted.

Was very thankful the current house was prewired with cat5e.  Granted it was rj11 terminated, but easy to replace the ends with rj45.  Where there isn't ethernet, there is rg6, and bonded moca 2.0 works for that.

I wired my last house for cat5, right before wifi became big. Dont think I ever used the cat5.

I respect your forward thinking but 6 is good for 10gb to 37m - 55m.
6a is likely overkill.  It comes on fucking big wooden spools!  It is SO much more of an install.

Where did you get the Wirepath wire?

Didn't know that brand was available outside of wholesale channels.

Also: Good luck. I friggin HATE wiring my own house. Just finished an addition on my house, pulled a couple thousand feet of Cat6, speaker wire and coax, have a 42u rack in my hall closet.

I did not notice until you pointed it out. Yeah that does look small. I have to run some Cat 6 as well. My fiber is getting ready to be connected to my house. Need to run 6-8 cameras, 5 TV, 4 -Roku boxes, 2-Xbox, 2-WD My Cloids, etc.

I was going to run some today, but work kicked my ass today.

I ran 6A in my house (new build prior to drywall). I didn’t realize how big of a PITA it would be, especially to terminate. Happy I did it but you’re not wrong. I wanted the ability to do high def video over Ethernet if I ever need to.

walls of houses in other parts of the country are...weird.

friend has a house in colorado springs that doesn't have 90 degree corners, but they are rounded.

see that strange textured look alot out west.  I prefer muh flat walls here in ol kentuck.
