Gotta get out of this shithole state.
Where is a good place to live where I can sit outside at night without sweating and getting eaten by mosquitos? Wife votes for Arizona, but ive never been there. |
Arizona is a pretty extreme change. Maybe look at Flagstaff or Prescott if you want a bit cooler climate there. They are less populated than Phoenix, and pretty nice areas.
New Mexico ain't too bad. The southern part of the state is drier and more deserty while the northern part is a cooler climate and has more trees. Lol
Prescott AZ is nice.
But then I'm biased because I've lived here for the last 39 years (moved here from MN when I was 21). |
Alabama has plenty of humidity and skeeters.
You're welcome to come on down. |
Why not Florida ?
We have no issues with heat/humidity or mosquitos. |
You're willing to move for stupid shit like this, but people wont move to free states from CA, MA, CT, NY, and the like. Some people really would rather live on their knees.
Minnesota.
Wait. Nvm.... I thought you said more mosquitoes and humidity, my bad. |
Heat? Humidity? in Illinois?
Florida laughs at your discomfort. |

View Quote There's not going to be anywhere to move to, once Hillary enacts CA and NY style gun control at the federal level my friend. Won't that be nice? |

I love how people complain about the humidity in Florida, but I remember the humidity in Pittsburgh being just as shit in the summers.
I'll take some humidity in Florida over the cold in a northern state any day. |
Colorado, New Mexico, or Utah...
We don't really have any mosquitoes right now. It cools off nicely in the evening. |
After going to Cabo, this is my preferred place if I can hit the Powerball. Haven't yet gotten bit by a bug and the humidity is bearable.
The mosquitoes come out here at 9 PM like clockwork. I can spend all day in the woods or on the water (which has been about 99% of my time this past month) and not get bothered by a single one. (eta: as long as its before 9 PM)
However, we're full. Sorry to break the news. |

Prescott and surrounding areas are just about perfect for weather and gun laws. Moved from Detroit area in 2012 and love it. Moderate temps, low humidity and NO SKEETERS!
Hurry, Californicaters are moving in by the zillion. Member Rizzo has an ammo tax: see AZ HTF for details. |
Well, the PNW has rain, but the cooler temperatures offset the humidity. So tell me Oregon/Washington ARFcommers, is that how it works?
And if OP is interested in other options, they might do some research on TX Hill Country. The heat is there, but the higher elevation and dryer conditions make the Summers a lot more bearable. Example https://www.wunderground.com/us/tx/kerrville https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerrville,_Texas |

View Quote Outside on the porch enjoying az's humidity and mosquitos. It's a diverse state. In Phoenix it's less of both and the further you go north more so. In the south east of tucson where I live we have what's called monsoon. The whole state gets it but we really get it from June to September. It's 8pm 72 degrees with 78% humidity. We haven't seen the sun in 3 days and it's wonderful and the thunderstorms range from a nice break from the heat to 7 out of 10 on the awesome scale. It's also the only place I've been where the hottest part of the year is the greenest. |
Seriously? Son you don't know mosquitos and humidity. Try my state if you seriously want to ever experience mosquitos and humidity. I like both... helps keep the Yankees away, which I hate far more.
I can't stand the humidity or the high temps any more out here.
Really considering moving back to Washington state |
Im planning my escape too, good luck.
I work along the backwaters of the Mississippi River, mosquitoes and humidity sucks. |

Born and raised in illinois. Fuck that state, assholes are in an unrecoverable debt spiral, gun laws are shit, liberals have ruined chiraq... Arizona is the place to be.

View Quote Its not stupid to me, I hate the politics and the high taxes and endless road construction etc. The majority of people in Illinois aren't liberal at all, 98% of the state goes red in elections. Fuckey districting and corruption throws our state blue every year. Paying bullshit taxes is one thing... not being able to enjoy your own backyard after work is another Looking to find a better place for my family is all. |
What do you do for work? AZ has some hidden gems if you know where to look. Western CO is also awesome if you're okay with going out of state to get your hi-cap mags.

Mosquitos are absolutely horrible this year. I can't even be outside past 7pm without getting attacked. Result: giagantic spiders.
Previous years maybe A few came out when it started getting dark. |

There is absolutely no need for mosquitoes on this planet. Yes there is. When Hitler fled to Argentina he started his scientists working on ways to spread viruses via mosquitos. It's finally happening. |

Mosquitoes bite all day long in the Mississippi and Missouri river valleys. A shady place in the middle of the day is no longer a nice place to sit outside. Now the only relief is working with a stinky motorized machine.

when its 110 deg and 30% humidity here in Phx AZ I hate it. Mornings are the worst because EVERYONE waters their yards between 5-7 am. once that burns off around 10-11 am its not bad atall.
not sure how you guys who live in the south do summers. |

Western Washington is amazing, and one of its finer qualities is the paucity of skeeters. Moved here 20 years ago from Minnescrotum.

Come to Nevada. We have dry air, lots of guns, and hookers. The humidity level on the hookers is totally up to you.
