I've got an Ithaca DS Police Special Featherweight in the "bead blasted/nickel" finish.

Dad used to use it as a slug gun for deer.

Fun to hold down the trigger and pump the action.  Compared to a Remington 870,  it kicks like a bastard.

Yep, when I checked the sights on mine using slugs fired from a bench it was quite punishing.

I didn't want one, until I saw that picture.

Got this ugly bastard for $171 last week.

The action is beyond smooth.

Looks good to me!  Hell I know where Vass is....somewhere near Southern Pines and Fort Bragg if I'm not mistaken.

Yep, about a 5 minute drive from Southern Pines.

I put a Choate MK5 stock on it today with a 13" LOP. Much quicker to the shoulder.

As much as I love the Remington 870, I think I actually like the Ithaca 37 better.

I have wanted one too.  I had a DS Police Special I miss it and cannot find a classic 37, someday.

OMG, today was my lucky day!  Older plane jane model 37, extended mag tube, front bead sight, "fun fire", 1980, good price  My 10 year long search is over.
ETA:  Looks like the one in OP

This thread needs more model '97 trench guns.  They look nice, you can slam fire, and they have a bayonet log.  Usually I have no love for bayonets, but, it kind of makes sense on a shotty, since it is a short range weapon anyways...

I see some Ithica shotguns around here from time to time. I think your best bet is to modify one of the hunting versions then park it or maybe some other matte finish. I'm surprised at how much they are fetching nowadays (the riot version).
