View Quote Had an instructor who was there as an aviator. The parade of planes didn't happen that way. Since the war was over and it was safe to fly, the planes scattered for looky loos over Japan to see the damage they did. When it came time for the flyover, there was no time to reassemble into formations and planes flew in helter-skelter over the Missouri. MacArthur was incensed and ordered them to do it again the next day and to do it right. |
