Inconsistent torque, sign of a hack.. I pay enough time on wheel off operation to have it torqued with torque wrench. The only wheel offs and most stripped hubs I've ever seen involved a torque stick. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I wonder in the cases you have seen if the impact gun was tuned to give the correct amount of torque to the stick and if the correct stick was used in the first place. View Quote |

not even gonna bother with any of that or trying to check if the tech is doing what they're supposed to, we're not a high out put service shop we're a specialty shop, every tech should have a number of quality torque wrenches 1/4 drive through 1/2. 120NM on lug bolts is not a lot to ask out of a technician. The bottom one is a water pump tool for North star engines. I hadn't used it in a long time. A couple weeks ago, my neighbor needed a head gasket on his 4.3. I was showing him what to do and brought that for him. It got the look. |

Fuck that noise. Would rather toil with self-adjusting rear calipers that have the brake mechanism than that stupid shit any day. Both my 1G Neon and my parents S10 Blazer suffered from that shitty design. There's basically no way to get the rotors off "clean" if they've been on the car for a while, so new rotors usually always meant new parking brake shoes, too. View Quote |
