SR-71 or F22 Raptor, and then ask the pilot for a negative 7-8G maneuver.
A10 would be cool too, if I got to fire the "gun". |

TR-3B my brother believes hes seen one and he knows aircraft pretty well

F4 Phantom, the last plane my WWII naval aviator uncle flew before he retired from the Reserve.

Well. since this is a fantasy thread I would be a P38 with my wife's uncle at the controls. He flew them in WWII transferred to the USAF when it was formed and stayed for 29 years. To his dying day, his all time favorite aircraft to fly. Would be cool to see him enjoying himself while putting the plane through it's paces.

F-86s were what was at McGuire when I took basic at Dix, and when I out processed there three years later it was all F-100s. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Still the P-38 , but now thinking more. I used to see these flying over once and awhile when I was very young. I always thought these were sexy. F-86 Sabre. Any of these would do me.https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/33165/B21uSn-263642.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/33165/52899068627cde024bdd98c5a28f4886--post-drawings-263644.JPG |

Flying scares me spitless, and I generally refuse to do it. I'd probably make an exception, though, if I could get a ride in the cockpit of a Lockheed Constellation. I kinda have a twitch for Kelly Johnson's airplanes.

Damn... that would be a sweet ride! Though I'm still partial to the 550's looks and it remains my favorite bizjet. I haven't flown in years (Private Pilot SEL), but used to fly a Mooney 231 that a company that I worked for owned. I used it to "commute to job sites" . Nowadays... if I was to start flying again and win the lottery... it would be a Pilatus PC12NG. What a friggin awesome airplane for an owner/pilot to have. May not be fast or have long legs, but it's easy to fly, got style, is BIG, and it's "cheap". ETA: A friend of mine owns a King Air B200. They're good looking airplanes and an industry standard workhorse. But honestly, I dunno why you'd choose one over a PC12 considering costs. View Quote |

Very hard to narrow it down to just one plane, but
stearman PT-17, or a WACO YMF-5 NA P-51D Mustang Lockheed SR-71 Fokker DVII or SE-5A with original engines PIper J-3 Cub |

B-17 (Great Uncle was a gunner), F-14 ( Most amazing thing I've ever seen fly), or S-2 Tracker ( My Dad was an aircrewman with VC-2 and VS-22)

After thinking about it for a bit I changed my mind.

Piston engine....It would have to be the P-47. I love the raw power that plane has, from what I've read about the development of the plane was that first they picked the engine and then built the plane around it. I think, but cannot confirm, that the Jug also holds the speed record for WWII piston powered aircraft.
Jet engine.... It is a hard choice between the F-14 and the F-15 Strike Eagle. I was mesmerized as a young teenager by Top Gun, but the exploits of the F15E Strike Eagle in combat is absolutely second to none. I'll take both, please. |

I bet with the right pilot, you'd fly anywhere, anytime. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I would pick the F-35 JSF.
As there is no 2 seat version they are going to have to train me up to fly it and give me one of those awesome $400,000 helmets. I would love to see me some "sensor fusion". |

I'm not sure there is a pilot who's that "right". Actually, it isn't so much who the pilot is, as where I'm sitting. I don't hate flying nearly so much if I can see out of the windshield. I'd rather be in the right seat, or at least in the cockpit, with a pilot I didn't know from Adam's housecat, than in the back of a commercial airliner with Jesus Christ himself at the controls. Now they only have KC-135, KC-10's, and C-17s. [b]There's also secret squirrel 757's there as well[b] Interesting. Must be flying snooper missions against Canada. I'm told that they EC-135s flew those missions on 9/11. Down to an airfield near DC, pick up their passengers then off someplace to hide. I've heard conflicting stories about if they still have that alert mission these days or if they really are just VIP and/or dedicated special mission transport. |
