Quoted: OP never heard of the Butterfly Effect... View Quote Eh, considering that takes the fun out of it. Let's say removing Marx prevents the red October revolution, but instead you get Hungry Igor's Compassionate Cookbook That inspires the Neo-Cannibalism movement, resulting in 3 billion dead over the 20th century, a new dark age - but does solve world hunger. |

The better question is should it be historical like hitler or more personal like whom ever crossed you the worst.
If only one, which way do you go ? |

Just one? There are so many that needed it through history. There are pivotal moments that did happen. Usually more than one involved. Though, maybe one, in a brutal manner that would have changed the others minds. Which one? I would need more time to study

Marx would be a waste. His concepts were nothing new. Marx just put pen to paper and gave the followers of those concepts a cultish religion of politics.
I believe if he were not around, this thread would still take place with just a different name in place of his. I would aim at the groups of folks that gave his cult any traction. |

I wouldn't want to fuck with the timeline.
If I was forced to pick a historical figure, maybe Fidel Castro just so the CIA doesn't waste a lot of money trying to assassinate him hundreds of times. Killing someone like Hitler or Stalin would fuck with the timeline too much, but I'd argue Mussolini could probably be killed without too much impact. (Although without Mussolini, Fascism wouldn't exist, which means WWII might not happen.) Or maybe Lee Harvey Oswald or whoever actually shot JFK. I feel JFK deserves to live and actually see his space program get a man on the moon, as it was a big ambition of his but he was assassinated about a decade before it was realized. EDIT: Not sure why so many of you said Marx. While Karl Marx "invented" communism his idea of communism involved practically no government and was more of a mutual cooperation system iirc. Completely different from Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc. |

Brutus. Without him, JC might have lived. With him alive, thousands of Romans would not have slaughtered each other. Maybe even a peaceful transistion to Augustus. Maybe the Western Empire would have continued full strength a few more centuries.

Dave Matthews Band. I count them as one person.
I'd never do it though. I'd have more liberal women mad at me than Trump. |

What if Bin Laden was snuffed out in the 90's?
Oh that's right, Slick Willy had the chance. |

Karl Marx.
Hopefully while I'm there I can also convince some sidekick to whack Friedrich Engels as well. |

Stupid thread is stupid. Every single last ounce of history , good or bad, formed our present. Would we have the military might we currently have and would we be viewed as a superpower without the world wars? How many people wouldn’t exist if Ghengis Kahn’s reign was cut short. If Hitler was killed early would the Germans have rallied and not marched on Russia, etc etc etc

Quoted: Gavrilo Princip. View Quote His one action ended la Belle Epoque, destroyed the Western Civilization of the Enlightenment, enabled communism and indirectly slaughtered a few hundred million. Although, so much chance appears to be involved in him doing it that I wonder if someone hasn't tried killing him several times already. |

The guy who invented the neck tie.
Mike Leach HATES neck ties ???? |

Mine is on a much more personal level, with likely zero adverse butterfly effect.
It is a guy at church who manipulated and molested multiple teenaged girls. The local church leadership was either woefully ignorant or intentionally looked the other way. I would put a knife in the gut of that motherfucker before any of his shit got started. |

Although, so much chance appears to be involved in him doing it that I wonder if someone hasn't tried killing him several times already. View Quote The Balkan Wars had already excused the world powers for the war they thought they wanted. I doubt getting rid of him would have change a whole lot. The Age of Discovery had ended, and the only way for European nations to get the territorial holdings was going to be WW1, and they all knew and counted on it. |

Gavrilo Princip, before he does the deed he is famous for. One Serb with a pistol was the ruination of Western Civilization.

Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor Albert, though he didn't cause the war, he made it the meat grinder that it became because of his stupidity.
