Looks real to me, but I'm no geologist.

Usually the kit cars are more obvious.

That car tries so hard to be light weight.  And then the driver enters the chat....

Beautiful vehicle regardless of whether it is a real Ferrari or a kit car.  Unless it has a documented history as a track car with that number, I think I would want it without the number on it.  However, if it is a documented track car, I can certainly understand leaving it in it's original configuration.

That has too be a replica.

No way thing thing would be out on public roads.

It’s the Ferrari from Heat.

Ferrari 330 P4. It is likely a replica, but if by chance it is the real thing, then you are looking at a $10-$15 million dollar car.

Hold on. The owner has a website.

edit:  It's a Norwood replica like Whiskerz says below.

It’s real in the sense it exists in the universe.

Why not?

Are you serious?

Because some idiot looking at their phone instead of the road will destroy your multi million dollar Ferrari investment car.

The sound is what makes me think it’s legit.

Sounded like a V12 with lots of lope at idle.

Very loud with a blip of throttle too.  Pretty incredible even if it is a replica.

Guys take their ultra rare high dollar cars out.  It's not uncommon.

Good point.

Looks like it could get stuck on that manhole cover in the picture.

Mission accomplished, he's not out driving for the driving experience in the middle of town there. He's driving it for "look at me".

There's only one 330 P4 still in existence and it's a spider, not a berlinetta.

That's a replica. But it's a good one.

Wrong.  I personally know a guy, that owned the worlds most original Jaguar d-type, and an original Jaguar Xk-ss (actually two of them, but it's a long story).  He regularly drove the living dog-shit out of those cars, on public roads.

He later sold one of them for an estimated 14 million dollars, thought the exact amount is unknown.  He currently drives one of his ford gt's.  He has a mk3, a 2005 gt40, and a 2020 ford gt.

Probably is, actually.

Lamborghini got their start in tractors.

That looks like a '64 2R, or at least has a lot of similarities.

ETA it is a '66 1R.

given that the pics were taken in Temecula California, the probability of it being real goes way up, imho.
ETA: However, if i had read a couple more posts down i would know that's not the case.

I’ve seen a few supercars today, as well as some ultimate luxury stuff, so while this car is clearly in a class of its own, it’s not like I’m in the ghetto here.

It’s been fun watching traffic as my wife window shops.

I know some of the supercars have clear boot lids to show off the motor, but how is the sun shining all the way through to the street?

Bird cage frame? Lord help you if you get smacked in that thing. Would seem to argue that if it's a replica, it's a damn expensive one.

There were only (4) made. Chassis' #0846, #0856, #0858, and #0860.

That said, David Piper, a Ferrari privateer from the period ended up owning enough spare 330 P4 parts that he convinced Ferrari to give him the technical drawings so he could assemble one (chassis #0900). He helped restore chassis #0858 a few years ago.

David Piper talks about how he approached the Ferrari 330 P4 #0858 rebody -- Part 3

A real one would not have a standard plate. Vanity for the win.

I know, I was just being facetious and playing on lack of knowledge. I found out they did tractors a couole years ago.

Given how wide the door sill is on those and how small the cockpit area is I bet it takes a minute or two for that driver to get behind the wheel.  Nice car though, even the replicas are expensive.

Sort of snuck up behind a 308 GTB on a mostly deserted, rolling two lane in the country outside Chapel Hill. Blew by him in my mother's 280 SE 4.5 with my buddy and our girlfriends in the car. Guy laughed as we went by...

...about a mile later I saw that thing get very big, very fast in my rearview. He howled past us at well over 100 mph. Pretty freakin' awesome with the window's down.
