Im guessing again my views wont be popular here.
I have traveled to both countries in the past. Had alot of wonderful times in both countries. I just want my friends to somehow survive at this point. Prior to the war my wife wanted to go abroad. Friends there encouraged us. End of the day I dont want my friends killed. Already been fighting through using VPN FB Skype etc to stay in contact. |

If I had it my way, Russians would go home and no more of either side would die. Sanctions would be lifted, Putin would be dead, and both countries would get along and be peaceful. Great folks when they stay in their country or if they visit without bringing Tanks, Artllary & Bombers... Ukraines too. Hope Putin comes to his senses & pulls back the Russians out of Ukraine, but sadly, I don't think that will happen because he won't settle for anything less than keeping Crimea, Donbass, the Land Corridor & other key parts of Ukraine. And that means the war will drag on and BOTH Ukrainians & Russians will keep on dying ... Russia has had this "Special Military Operation" as an "away game" (tearing up Ukraine with no damage to Russia), but at some point asymmetric warfare may come home to roost for the Russians - as they say "everybody has a plan until the get punched in the face"... I was with a girl from kyiv and another acting as a translator so we were speaking English. He asked if I was an American and I said yes. We talked maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Not long. He mentioned how he didn't hate America but was jealous in a way. I called my dad later that day (he is a Korean war vet). My Dad explained how i shouldnt hate him as he didn't hate us. I wish I had asked him more questions... |
