I understand the 6920 is a good firearm, and the base for which all other AR's are usually judged in the modern era. That being said with $1500 I would have a pretty killer LW middy BCM, if it was my coin. Honestly though a $500 Aero stripped with 1k of goodies on it doesn't sound bad either...

Don't feel bad OP. I paid $1,650 for a Colt MT6551 one week before they were banned for good in California. This was late December 1999.
I had no interest in ARs until California banned them and then I did last minute shopping that cost me an arm and a leg.
