View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: ... Maybe McCarthy needs to figure out what he can do to secure their vote instead of them just blindly voting for him. LOL, he will work with the democrats before the freedom caucus. Spoiler alert; he will do the same thing the whole time he is speaker. Correct. |

The Freedom Caucus is achieving their goals through withholding votes for McCarthy. McCarthy must kowtow to the Freedom Caucus and advance Freedom Caucus legislation.

McCarthy is already out of the running, with 6 votes for Jordan. All the while, the Dems are showing solidarity and voting for their guy with no wavering of support.

Was watching the c-span feed and they said one time before the Civil War this process dragged on for 2 months. Required 133 votes.
What a clown show, McCarthy is a swamp rat, endorsed by Trump, has Jim Jordan (who's also nominated) nominating him and voting for him, as well as MTG voting for him. Something tells me they want some lucrative committee positions........ just another member of the Uniparty.......

What's with all this Pelosi love right now. Saying they would rather have her than McCarthy. That's just plain stupidity. McCarthy would be a better house speaker for the democrat party on his worst days than Nancy on her best days. Just about any Republican not named Cheney or Kinzinger would probably be better than her.

Washington didn't want to be king but he finally became president for the good of his country. Jordon should do the same think for the good of the whole country. Time to govern for the whole country. Show us how it's done.

This apparently OPPONENTS OF Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s bid for the House speakership are digging in after a tense discussion on the House floor between Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. The pair’s conspicuous exchange in the back of the chamber on the first day of the 118th Congress was caught on C-SPAN — and noted by many members in the building. Thanks to Gaetz and his far-right allies, McCarthy, a California Republican, failed to win the speakership on the first round of voting. Gaetz told Ocasio-Cortez that McCarthy has been telling Republicans that he’ll be able to cut a deal with Democrats to vote present, enabling him to win a majority of those present and voting, according to Ocasio-Cortez. She told Gaetz that wasn’t happening, and also double-checked with Democratic party leadership, confirming there’d be no side deal. ... |

Whatever. I want to see Republicans take the hard stands come what may, win or lose. We need to know what we're up against.

Great commentary from Wade Miller (great staffer/lobbyist). This is a fight against the political establishment that screws gun owners in these omnibus bills and other bipartisan piece of trash they push.
Attached File And here is Rep. Byron Donaldson of Florida. Attached File Attached File Attached File He switch his vote to Jordan on the third go around. It appears he is now standing for principle over party and will not support McCarthy. |

It appears to me that what I'm seeing is the roots of the "Tea Party" and the "Jan 6th" taking hold again. I can certainly get behind someone that is for ending corruption, 4000 page last minute bills, dismantling the status quo and more and more in an effort to right the ship. Will 20 votes do the trick? Will the 200 or so voting for McCarthy see the light and figure this out? I find it difficult to believe that the 200 could possibly be "conservative" if in fact they support the status quo via McCarthy?

Quoted: Someone needs to go back to civics class. Bobert, MTG and JJ are great for firing up their base, making soundbites and provoking Democrats. And every time a party takes over the leadership, they again realize that it's easy to take potshots at the leadership when you don't set the agenda and don't have to get anything done. It's much harder when you're actually in charge. None of these 3 have any skills to actually lead a party. View Quote As opposed to the life long politicians who have run this country into the fucking ground? Right on, my reasonable, adult, conservative bro. |
