The valve dropping issue on the 427, lots of opinions as to why, even GM has said different things. Machining or material issue, pick a side.  I think the heads flow fine, of course every shop will claim to rub special sauce on them and make them better.

Exactly what I was thinking, those UGR Lambo's are retarded.  It's a shame they haven't figured out their trannys 100%. Not fun eating $30k for a failure point. Maybe they have by now though, I haven't followed them for a good while.

Yeah, I think some Lambo's have come close to 240mph in the 1/2 mile.

I can't remember the years exactly, but 2007-2008 (maybe '09 too) LS7 heads had valve guide issues. If you see one for sale and it mentions the heads have been redone, that is likely the reason.

Having built things for half mile racing I can tell that is incredibly impressive, the power levels are dumb and the duty cycle is a killer.  Those guys flog those cars.

The vette has come a damn long way.  It was a Z06 which is the single best bang for the buck in the performance car world.  That particular car had aftermarket work done on the engine, probably valve train, cam, headers

Was '16 the last year for the SS sedan, that was the last of the commodore platform anywhere in the world. The Aussies let Holden get shit canned....kinda sad. No more domestic Aussie cars, and they built some good'ns

If you want to be enlightened, go look up official production car lap records. The clock doesn't care how much your car costs or what fancy shit it's made out of. The dodge Viper ACR actually beats the million dollar Porsche 918 spyder and McLaren P1, it also holds the production car lap record at 13 different tracks and it only costs 114k. The Zo6 will typically be next after those three cars, and the Italians don't like to bring their cars out because they're afraid of being embarrassed.

The C6Z will go down in history as one of the best Corvettes Chevy ever produced. A lightweight corner carving SOB with an angry dry-sump aluminum 427 that revs to 7,000 stock easily with a ton of power and torque behind it. Probably not gonna see another Vette like it. Gotta go FI to meet CAFE requirements and still have the power. That and the new rumored DOHC LT5 just won't be the same.

Needless to say an Atomic Orange example is on my list of goals to own before I turn 25 (just hit 23).

Very few Vettes and exotic cars ever get a chance to truly stretch their legs and the owners seem fine with it. More about the prestige and thumbs up while cruising around town and revving the engine at stoplights I guess. Would drive me bonkers. Like shooting paper targets at 100 yrds. with a 50 cal.

Soo...2017 is the last year? Holden is done making cars here shortly...they will be a design house for GM and be a sales channel I assume for imported GM products...most of which will probably be built in Asia.

Couple friends raced back in the day, cars were E63 AMG, C63 AMG, GTR, porche cayman S (I was driving that and out classed by the rest), and Lamborghini Gallardo, and twin turbo'd G35.

Needless to say 0-100 they were all pretty damn close with the cayman doing the worst. And the GTR was smoking EVERYONE.. E, C and Lambo were mighty close. But once the numbers climbed the Lambo really shined. I remember being in the GTR for a run, and up to 130-140 the lambo was in it's mirrors, 140 mph hit, and WHAM the lambo comes flying by. They were built to go close to 200 mph, the GTR was built to run around a track as fast as it could.

The UGR lambos did a 247 pass at a shift sector even in September I think. Stout as fuck.  I made some supercharger/intercooler stuff for a ZR1 that did 196..set the ZR1 record, rowing gears too.

My ex had a 77 vette, the only vette I've ever driven. 4 barrel 350 with all the smog equipment (cali car) it was a dog. My W-30 would smoke it all day long.

That was fricking AWESOME !

Never expected to see that......pure badass. Had no idea the newer vette's were that capable.....Thanks for sharing that.

This list shows the C6 Z06 doing the Nurburgring in 7:22, while the Lambo Murcielago, which is what is the video, doing it in 7:40.  Supposedly, the new C7 Z06 with the Z07 Aero Package did it in 6:59 in 2015 according to these guys.  If that's true, it puts the Z06 up there with the Porsche 918, LaFerrari and McLaren P1.  The difference is that those three exotics are all around 1 million bucks vs 100 grand for the Vette...

Solid combo for sure.

What's the turbine side of that dryer? You happy with the 76mm or tempted to go S480/S484?

I'm leaning towards a 484 personally.
