Well, now I feel like a bit of a stud. I just killed a red lynel in like 10 seconds with no damage.
Jumped off a rise above him and shot him with a lynel bow I upgraded to 5 shot with octoroks with arrows fused to blue moblin horns. When I hit the ground I hit him a handful of times on the ground and he was done. It feels weird to post that, but no one else around would care about that. |

Quoted: Got Majora's Mask. Had to build a silver lynel sword in the last round so I could kill the final armored silver lynel. I ran out of arrows and rockets for fighting from the air. That battle was quite a thing. View Quote It took me like 30 seconds to get the Majora's Mask. I one shotted all of the lynels and didn't take a bit of damage. I'll put the explanation in a spoiler since it includes methods that some might consider...unusual. Click To View Spoiler First off, kill a lynel and get a 3 shot bow. Take it to the Goron area and use octorocks to upgrade it twice. That means you'll need to drop it in front of one octorock, let it suck it up and spit it out, then go to a different octorock and do it again. The second time you might get a 5 shot upgrade to your 3 shot lynel bow. Hint - I do a hard save right before the second upgrade that way if I get something other than a 5 shot I can load the game and try again until I get the 5 shot upgrade. That's a bussin bow, but you're going to need to fuse it with an ancient blade to one shot a lynel. Ancient blades are pretty rare but they can be found in the Spirit Temple, if you've finished that quest. I get them from the Archer Link amibo, which my son says is cheating. But I have Majora's Mask and he doesn't so joke's on him. The ancient blades give you 50 fuse power. So, you've got the 10 power lynel bow, upgraded to 5 shot with a 50 power fuse item on each arrow. If my mathing is correct, that's 300, which is apparently enough to one shot a lynel, if you're using an ancient blade. The only problem is that the lynel just disappears and doesn't drop any materials, so you're screwed in that department. |

For him I use a rocket shield to get airborne and then spam him with bomb flower arrows to get through the armor - it helps if you’re using a multi shot bow. Then I use another rocket shield to do the same thing with horn arrows to get his health down. Then I finish him on the ground. |
