Extreme Predjudice Love me some shotgun, levergun, and .45 action. Also deuces in the end shootout. http://sharetv.org/images/posters/extreme_prejudice_1987.jpg http://www.moviestillsdb.com/media/pictures/m/94/94742857dfb058369d04a3256b4d0ce8.jpg http://calibanblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/ep2.jpg http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7779/600pxeprem8709.jpg You forgot...and Maria Conchita Alonzo's chi chis. I've always found it kinda perplexing that Extreme Prejudice isn't more popular. It's got what is probably the most impressive pedigree of any 80's action movie. It's directed by Walter Hill from a story written by John Milius at a time when both were at the top of their respective games. The guys who adapted the story to a screenplay had been involved with movies like The Deer Hunter, Silent Running, Red Heat, and Bullitt. The protagonist of the film was Nick Nolte right before he decided that he wanted to be a "serious" actor and made the switch to boring shit like Ulee's Gold and The Prince of Tides. The protagonist was up against a double-pronged attack from Powers Boothe and Michael Ironsides. The supporting cast was a veritable who's who of 80's action movies. The aforementioned Maria Conchita Alonso, Clancy "Kurgan" Brown, Rip Torn, William Forsythe, Larry B. "gay black guy from Revenge of the Nerds" Scott, Tiny Tommy Lister, Mickey "fat thug from Roadhouse" Jones. The story is at worst good and interesting. The action sequences are well thought out and well directed. But in spite of all this, the movie seems to be all but forgotten. Perhaps it's because it was released in a time when the only action movies that seemed to have any staying power needed someone like a Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Norris, or Van Damme. I honestly don't know. It's a fun movie to watch. |

I actually worked on this one and have a credit as "Motorcycle Wrangler". It was right before Gary hit his head and got all bizarre, he was a really nice guy and I got to know his kid Jake real well.
"Eye of the Tiger", Yep the Rocky theme song. The producers were the Scottie Bros who owned the rights to the song and were counting on people just going to see it because they knew the song. Trailer |
