That looked psychotically dangerous and irresponsible.
Wish I'd been there. |

Was really hoping that parachute was for a guy riding that thing to the top...

Neat firework but Elijah apparently never played chess (nobody moves after checkmate) and what does flat earthers have to do with that firework?

That was posted here a year or two ago. It seems like that thread had a link to plans for making it.

I'll be honest, that went way better than I expected based on the first 20 seconds.

Thailand.
That's the "boon bon fi" festival where the locals build rockets out of old battery chemicals. Hundreds of years ago the festival was meant to bring rains, now it's a weekend of drinking and shooting off huge rockets. |

My wife's village is in Northern Thailand and I was there for a Rocket Festival one year. OMG I needed police escort because so many drunks wanted to drink with the American. Most of the rockets are conventional shaped about 12 feet long and nearly 10-12" in diameter. They easily hit 2500-3000 feet up. They launch them two at a time. The villagers bet on everything but normally which of the two rockets flies highest. I was a good 150 yards from the "launch site" where there was a continuous crowd of the dozen or so most drunken bachelors in the Provence. CRAZY Rocket Festival of Thailand! |
