There are things worthy of emulating in British culture. The cuisine is not one of them.

The Heinz beans from the UK are very, very good. A bit expensive when you compare them against the domestic baked beans brands like Bush's but it's worth it for a treat once in a while. Fry's Food (Kroger) usually has them.

I do beans on toast at least once a month.
Van Camps pork and beans, I’ve preferred good sourdough for the toast, and generous butter on the toast. Comfort food. |

Thought this was going to be a Professor Elemental thread.
Odd steampunk video (all his videos are odd). Professor Elemental - I'm British (Dir: Moog Gravett) |

I need some more marmite anyways.(that I can find most places) |

Quoted: Beans on toast is not my thing, but an English breakfast can be pretty damned good after a night at the ol' pub. https://cdn.thelondoneconomic.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/d6209be9-how-to-make-the-perfect-full-english-breakfast-fry-up-scaled.jpeg View Quote That is the first thing I'm getting when I visit the UK... Followed by fish and chips. |

OP, I have eaten that hundreds of times. It is really good on artisan type breads.

And I thought my chili with rice thread was going to break ARF.
You sir have surpassed my wildest expectations. I'm a pretty open minded person when it comes to food but even I don't know if I can endorse beans on bread. |

Throw in a tiny can of diced green chilis. Thank me later. I like baked beans but not on bread.
I prefer two hotdogs split and fried, covered in chili with beans, and some shredded cheese on my bread. |

So that’s what people are referring too when they call something a shit sandwich!

Few English foods are worth mentioning. Like count on one hand few.

I just watched the guy make bubble and squeak on Travels by Narrowboat.
I no longer want to try B&S. |

I'd always reply, "very British, and you notice you never see any famous British restaurants or anyone talking about going to British cook school or classes". It's not that it's bad, it's just bland which I assume is why Indian, Malaysian, Indonesian, etc. were so popular there and in England. Just based on my own experience working with a fair number of Brits and Aussies over the years, most I've met don't tend to like hot spicy either. |

The Heinz beans have more tomato flavor, less brown sugar sweetness than the US baked beans. |

Jesus man.
You really screwed the pooch going from the Cuban sangwich thread to this. |

Beans in tomato sauce with cheddar cheese on toast. Not "chili beans" or American style baked beans. It's honestly not that bad.

I didn’t even know it was a thing or even a british thing but I’ve had beans and toast. Now I know its not only me.

It's surprisingly good with a lightly fried egg on top. Beans on toast, American style.
