There is no option to get both so don't be silly. If you had a chance to pick either version would you pick the full-size MP5 or the compact MP5K.

For the first, full size. Get the K second. Yes I know you said only one. Two is one. One is none.
And realistically at current prices you can buy two for the price of one last year. |
|
I’d justify both.
A real HK SP5 semi is $2900 The really nice MKE are like $1100 each. You’re saving money getting two over the HK one (only diff is roll mark on the side). You’re welcome. |

I just ordered a PTR 9KT, which should arrive on Thursday, so I voted “K” with my wallet.

I have a H&K Mp5-A3. I have 2 Ap5P’s (Mp5k)
I vote Mp5K. With the stocks available….you really gain in compactness over the standard Mp5. Attached File |

I went full size for my first PTR, will go K when I find a cheap AP5-P.

Full size is classic, but I went with K clone.
Shorter is better. Especially when suppressed. |

I have a SBR K.
No regerts. But will get a full size eventually. The MKE deal is too good to pass up. |
|
I got the K and love it.
But if my brother didn't have a full size I would have probably gotten one. Either one is gonna be a blast |

Of the 2, the full sized.
That’s the one I usually pick for the range using a registered sear. |
|
If I had a need, the ready funds to waste, and the desire... I'd get an MP5SD with collapsible stock.
No other MP5 interests me. |

View Quote Yea whatever First we have to assume the steel and heat treat are as good as the German guns. Next the Action 3 is a real advancement especially the ejector but for longer term durability the action 3 bolt changes extended the life 60%. These MKE former HK contract guns offer a great value and I think 90% are good guns but they are absolutely not HK quality. Too many misaligned triple frames, older spec parts and softer steels. |

If it wasn’t a true K and has an extended barrel and 3 lug suppressor attachments I’d go with a rear stretch K.

Quoted: Nonsense. Its called an MP5K reverse stretch. MP5 receiver with a K front end. https://64.media.tumblr.com/d85ee51c4a0a3bd8d156b01b62dfe7c7/tumblr_ohe4a9Srs61sr1lf3o1_1280.jpg Best MP5 configuration View Quote Best or best looking? A K with a telescoping stock defeats the purpose of the K. The stock adds all the length back but you’re left with a shorter sight radius and shorter barrel. |

I really have to say both. The rate of fire on the MP5K is hilariously fast, like 1000 RPM and even faster with a can, so that's always fun. But the fullsize MP5 is perfect ROF and very enjoyable to shoot.

First time in my 20+ years on arfom....I got both! AP5 Core/Full size and AR5-P (K). Just picked up saturaday, have not had a chance to shoot yet. Get both!
|
|
Poll FAIL. Get Both. Get all three!!!!!
ETA: Having a lot of fun with the K model. |
|
It’s a tough decision but I went with the full size. I shoot it suppressed 99% of the time and didn’t want to mess with the locking piece on the K.
That being said, I’ve been considering getting a K as well and probably will someday. |
|
I bought the full size. All I could find. And I ran across it by chance. I’d love a K model to go along with it.

OP should have done this one properly and that means
MP5A3 vs MP5K-PDW and while the PDW is super cool the MP5 wins and this comes from a guy who use to own both with happy switches. |

Do you need to change the locking piece on the K to make it cycle supressed? From what I understand, only if you shoot the ever lovin shit out of it suppressed. I don't think it's necessary for my needs, but I'll probably still get it done one day because I seriously doubt I'll ever shoot mine loud |
